What on earth does two headed fish have in common with these three words, recipes cleaning products? I used to live in Brisbane, Australia and always admired the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast as locals call it.

The Sunshine coast is 1 hour north of Brisbane on the east coast of Australia, 5 hours south of the start of the Great Barrier Reef, the area a postcard of lush green rainforests, golden sands and turquoise water.

I was deeply saddened when I opened the paper and read the headline.

River of two headed fish

I expected the article to be about the Brisbane River that weaves it way right through the middle of the city of Brisbane as rivers in big cities are usually polluted because of industry. Not that Brisbane is very big only 1.6milion people call it home.

The story was however about the Noosa river right in the heartland of the beautiful Sunshine coast. The culprit according to the paper, a nearby Macadamia nut farm's use of pesticides, leeching into the river.

This article made me think about how many chemicals we wash into the river systems and oceans every time we clean our home, wash our dishes or cars.
