We Support Our Recovering Heroes!
At Century 21 Smith & Associates, REALTORS®, "support our troops" is more than just cynical rhetoric.
Participating Associates have joined our Broker, Jeff Smith, in donating $200.00 of the proceeds from each sale to the local operations of the Returning Heroes Home, Fisher House, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and Warrior Family Support Centerin our client's name!
Our Goal is to raise $1,000,000.00 during 2008, and we hope you will join us, and give generously to these great causes. So many men and women and their families have sacrificed so much for our benefit, and returning what little we can to help them get their lives back in order is the least we can do.
In San Antonio, you can help by contacting me through My San Antonio Associate.com, and letting me compete for your business .
If you wish to contribute directly to these causes, send your check or money order payable to Century 21 Heroes Fund to:

Returning Heroes Home
About the Returning Heroes Home
The Returning Heroes Home is located near the Brooks Army Medical Center (BAMC) at Ft. Sam Houston, and helps Wounded Warriors and their families heal and reconnect their lives.
The facility is a 12,000 square foot replacement building for the 1,200 square foot existing Warrior and Family Support Center, formerly called the Soldier and Family Assistance Center (SFAC).
Many of the soldiers receiving treatment are veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan with extensive burn injuries, loss of limbs, head and internal injuries. Daily, they deal with the feelings of fear, embarrassment and loneliness, due to separation from their family and loved ones.
When they can come to San Antonio, where do the family members of these Wounded Warriors go? Many literally arrive with not so much as a toothbrush. They were told their family member was wounded and heading to BAMC and all they want to do is get here as soon as possible.
They go to the Soldier and Family Assistance Center.
Caregivers involved in all aspects of patient care recognized that families are an essential part of a patient's rehabilitation and recovery. In addition to the patients' living quarters, a place was needed that was away from the hospital. The patient and family needed a "safe" environment in which to enhance the healing process and learn how to cope with war related disabilities as individuals, couples and as families.
Right now the Warrior and Family Support Center is a room in the Powless Guesthouse.
You can make a difference.

They have given so much . . .
. . . won't you give a little in return.
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund
Begun in 2000 under the auspices of the Intrepid Museum Foundation, and established as an independent not-for-profit organization in 2003, the Fund provides close to $60 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans. These efforts are funded entirely with donations from the public.
100% of contributions raised by the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund go towards these programs; all administrative expenses are underwritten by the Fund's Trustees.
