Recruitment Software Review

A quick look at the recruitment software providers and their products. It's a minefield of products out there - just type in recruitment software or recruitment database into Google and see how many products you end up with!!!

What should I look for in a Recruitment Software Application?

A quickguide to the recruitment software providers and their products

I guess if you're looking for a recruitment software system to keep you organised it must:

1) Integrate with your Outlook email (as most of your communications will already be on email)
2) Be fast and easy to use (so you can generate more fees!)
3) Search EVERYTHING (CV's, skills, records, notes) in a single search
4) Produce reports (so you can see how you're doing)
5) You should also consider using a system where your data is hosted, as if your business has fire/flood/theft then it's game over!! If not then make sure your backups of your local system are stored offsite

Which is the Best Recruitment Software Solution for My Agency?

In terms of which system here is a brief summary of the most popular ones:

CHEAP & CHEERFUL WEB BASED RECRUITMENT SOFTWARE FOR STARTUPS:

# Eboss - www.eboss.co.uk
# ChamelionI - www.chameleoni.com

(Note. Obviously browser based ones don't fully integrate with Outlook, but these kind of programs can be good for a new start up with no money)

RECRUITMENT SOFTWARE FOR PROFESSIONAL TEAMS

# Darwin - www.darwin.com (easy to use is their USP)
# Bond - www.bondadapt.co.uk (had a few probs in the past but better now I think, new version OK I hear but haven't tried)
# Voyager - www.voyager.co.uk (ok, can be slow as foxpro database??)
# Arithon - www.arithon.co.uk (ok, bit clunky but essentially sound)

(Note. some of these are local software that store your data online, so they have speed and flexibility. Others are local only, so make you check which.)

HIGH END SYSTEMS THAT CAN COST AN ARM AND A LEG!!!

# RDBPro - www.rdbpro.co.uk(lovely if you've got £50k+ !!! But they also run some agencies themselves.)
# Microdec - www.microdec-profile.com> (good software, decent company also)

Which Recruitment Software Solution is Best??

It depends on your needs and your budget. A good strategy however is to work out how much you make per placement, then work that back into the software costs, ie. one placement and its paid for itself etc.

Also choose a provider that deals with you in an efficient and friendly way - you could be with them a long time, so don't stand for being treated poorly! I've been told a few of the more established ones have quite an attitude, so you might have to remind them that you're the customer!

Good Luck!!!
