Many Uses Of Recycled Paper

Recycled paper has many uses in home design. From using papercrete to build a home to recycled wallpaper, insulation and decoration. Cardboard is used to make furniture as is paper mache. Counter tops can be made of recycled paper as can lamp shades and wall art. Just let your imagination lead you to other projects. If you are concerned about durability then it is suggested you use a sealer when appropriate. This also protect against water damage and insect infestation.

History

How to Build with Papercrete
Papercrete is made from recycled paper with a small amount of cement and sand added. The ratio is 60/20/20. The paper/concrete/sand mixture is stirred in a large barrel, much like a blender, until all paper is shredded and evenly mixed with the concrete and sand.
Living In Paper - 2010
Anecdotally, a lot is known about papercrete, but not much has been formally tested. We will be testing as many parameters as time and funding permits. As results become available, they will be posted at the end of this section. In order to gain visibility and acceptance in the marketplace, a battery of tests will have to be run, standards set and quality controls initiated.

I've used cardboard to construct a few furniture pieces and to make 3D costumes; papercrete looks like an interesting art medium for me to explore for garden art.
