Some years ago we visited the Red Caboose Motel and enjoyed it very much. The help wqas superb and the gift shop left nothing to be desird. We really lkiked the restayrant. The proprietor told us, "If the trees stsart t move we are in trouble because we have a very limited track!"

This was one of my favorite stories to read here on Squidoo. It took me weeks & weeks, but I FINALLY compiled my SquidAngel Lens from my angel duties back in the Fall of 2010. So am returning to let you know this lens is now 'featured on' and 'lensrolled to' my 'SquidAngel Blessings by an Elf'

Growing up in western NY State, I'm familiar with most of Pennsylvania too and have been to/through Lancaster a number of times. But never heard of the Red Caboose Motel & Restaurant and very much enjoyed your delightful tour. Your presentation is outstanding.

I had an uncle who was a train engineer. Hubby's dad was the doctor in a small Kansas town the Sante Fe Railroad called on if anyone was ill when the train passed through town. My son was train-crazy all his life, then HE had a son and to my 8-year-old Grandson nothing in life is as important as trains! There definitely must be a train gene here! Our whole family would LOVE visiting and staying at the Red Caboose Motel. The cars actually sit on a piece of RR track, I see. Excellent!

We once stayed at the CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO hotel and restaurant in Chattangooga, TN while on a family trip. They used regular RR cars as motel rooms (not a caboose) and the restaurant was NOT a regular train dining car, but the old train station converted. The most interesting part of their restaurant is you ordered and bought your meal at a 'ticket booth' before sitting down -- if you wanted steak, you bought a ticket to Kansas City, if Seafood, ticket to New Orleans, etc. It was fun. NOW, it would be really fun to come to PA. You've done a fabulous job telling us the story of the Red Caboose Motel/Restaurant, so before the 'train' pulls out of the station, I want to leave a ~~SquidAngel Blessing~~

Stasburg and Ronks are both beautiful places! Living in nearby Chester County, we haven't stayed there, but know well where it is.

I love your lens! When my father remarried, he actually spent his wedding night at the Red Caboose. (He would not recommend it for a honeymoon, but it was unique!) The Red Caboose Restaurant is a favorite of my kids. Great lens and great photos. Reminds me of home!
