It's fun to blow things up, Martian-style
In Red Faction: Guerrilla, the protagonist, Alec Mason, is able to run, jump, hijack vehicles, and use weapons to traverse and free roam across the open world of Mars and fight the EDF (Earth Defense Force). A special weapon, the "Grinder", is a homemade, improvised weapon made by miners that launches charged blades at enemies and objects. There is also a unique weapon called the "reconstructor". It is a multiplayer-only weapon that can be used to rebuild destroyed structures. Read more...

Is someone sniping you from that tower? Just throw some charges and level the tower...no more sniper tower. Worried about getting surrounded? Just set up some charges around the base of the building and lure someone in only to level the building.

Poll: What is your favorite weapon in Red Faction: Guerrilla?
The Rail Driver reminds me too much of the Farsight XR-20 for me to ever like it. At least it has no auto-aim *shudders*. I'll go with the Grinder. For me, flinging saw blades never gets old. I just hope that the 'exploding disk' upgrade can be toggled off, or else ill pretty much lose interest once I get it...

Red Faction vs. Prototype
Okay gamers, only you have the wisdom to answer my quandry! I'd like to get either Red Faction Guerrilla or Prototype for the 360 because I love open world destruction on my console. Prototype features a dude who has a sword for an arm and he can also fly and absorb people. Personally that's something I can support. I am on the verge of entering my credit card information into Steam. Should I buy this game over Red Faction Guerrilla?
So, which is it? Infected New York, or the sands of Mars?

Well i have both games for my 360 and i like them a lot. It's really hard to say which is better but i think i prefer Red Faction because all the destruction thing and of course multiplayer which is awesome. Prototype in other hand has great missions and it's really fun but it's short game because you can get 100% in like 18 hours. God i wish the reconstructor would be in single player in red faction. I recommend both if you have money. If you have xbox live gold time buy RFG because theres more to do waiting more money to buy the other.

Having played both, I'd say go with Prototype. Red Faction is about as gimmicky as it gets. If it wasn't for the destructive environments, nobody would care. Prototype, on the hand, is quite simply the most fun I've had with a game in a long time. My roommate and I generally egg each other on and laugh at the carnage for hours on end.

What do you want to see in Red Faction 4?
The beauty of a game like Red Faction: Guerrilla is that there's no set way to play it. Get a chance to play it for a few hours and then come here to lay out some new cool features you'd like to see incorporated into Red Faction 4. - Well first of all i would wish that there is more different kind of guns and reconstructor would be in single player. Then i wish that there would be higher buildings like 20 floors or something and high towers too. Also i would wish that those flying machines of EDF that you can shoot down could be driveable and there should be cool parachute so that you can jump from cliff or from those flying machines or there should be some hook that you can climb those high buildings or towers. Those would be really cool and the playing area should not have to be so big so that they can concentrate to those other things.
