The Color Red

The color Red is very stimulating. It is bright, vibrant and is known to be associated with strength, courage, power, passion, desire and love. Since Red is such an intense color it also enhances human metabolism and is said to increase your respiration rate.

Red is also the color associated with our Root Chakra which is our 1st. Chakra also called the Based Chakra. It is located at the bottom of your spine. The Root Chakra is associated a lot with different emotional states.

There are five different colors associated with the color Red: Light Red, Pink, Dark Red, Brown and Reddish Brown which all have red as the base color. Just as Pink signifies romance, love and friendship, Red signifies joy, sexuality, passion and love. I happen to believe that each color encourages or discourages us, that is why I lean more towards some colors oppose to others.

When it comes to photography, red is something that truly stimulates your eyes. I will admit, Red is not one of my favorite colors, but through the lens of my camera I have seen a whole new world in the color.

Red Geraniums

Geraniums are the flowers that symbolize the fourth wedding anniversary. They represent the feminine element. The scarlet or red geranium signifies comfort and consolation. Other symbolic meanings of geraniums include true friendship and a sign of peaceful mind.

According to Scott Cunningham, the Geranium is a flower that represents fertility, health, love and protection. A folk-lore myth suggests that where ever you place a geranium plant snakes will avoid it.

Red Geraniums are quite protective, and strengthen health.

Red Tulips

The Tulips-I have loved them since very early childhood. When I lived in Delaware as a child, I would walk around the neighborhood looking at all of the tulips growing. When I seen this, I knew it was almost time for chocolate bunnies and coconut cream eggs!!

According to Scott Cunningham the tulip symbolizes prosperity, love and protection.
