The Retro Red Flyer Trike Teaches your Toddler How to Ride a Cycle

Radio Flyer red tricycles are the most popular toys to teach a child how to ride a cycle. This is not surprising at all since this adorable tricycle's design is exactly the same red classic trike as the ones their parents rode as kids. Ah, the charm of those retro red tricycles!

The trend of riding a red tricycle began decades ago and has become some kind of a tradition in most American families. Moreover, the Radio Flyer red classic tricycle allows parents to remember the joyful days they were riding their own red trike as a child.

Bring back memories of riding a tricycle from your own childhood

Toddlers love nothing as much as riding bikes, especially in the summer. However, they're often too young to ride two-wheeled cycles and, therefore, a three-wheeled trike is the perfect solution to teach them how to ride a cycle.

As a child, you surely enjoyed riding on a classic Radio Flyer red trike; I know, I did! Although my own red tricycle wasn't probably produced by Radio Flyer, I remember how much I enjoyed riding a retro looking red tricycle; from which I had lots of fun. I remember that, at the time I was too old to ride this tricycle, I used to stand on one of the rear steps when the other child rode the trike.

Teaching my own child riding his retro styled red tricycle was more fun because it brought back many memories of my own childhood, which added more fun to the task.

Although the Radio Flyer Classic red tricycle provides your toddler with some kind of independence, it also allows you to keep an eye on them when they ride around the playground or the area you brought them to enjoy riding their trike.

Your toddler will enjoy ringing the trike bell, while the controlled turning radius and low center of gravity provide great ease for riding. Radio Flyer is a well known and established brand and the Red Dual Deck Tricycle, produced by this company won Parents Choice Classic Award; which is recognition of its quality. The trike comes in a girly pink version too.

Naturally, not everyone does enjoy retro toys for their kids and the Radio Flyer classic red tricycle might not be the kind of toy you'd like your toddler to ride. Well, to say the truth, like with all classic toys, the Radio Flyer tricycle has been revamped and there is now a more modern version available on the market: the Radio Flyer's Classic lights and sounds trike.

The Radio Flyer's Classic lights and sounds trike provides everything that a toddler born in the 21st century will enjoy. Indeed, this tricycle, that comes in two different colors. The pink one, as illustrated below is for girls while there's a red version of the trike for boys. The trike's design makes think to a scooter (scooters are the current rage) and, like them, it also provides toddlers with a secret storage compartment underneath the seat.

Regarding the electronic side of the tricycle, your toddler will certainly have lots of fun playing with the dashboard and pretend ride their own bike. As a matter of fact, the electronic dashboard on Radio Flyer's Classic Lights and Sounds Trike will play music and the turn signal will make special sounds.

I don't remember my childhood tricycle, but my dad bought a red tricycle for my 2-yr-old toddler while we were visiting the grandparents in New York from our home in Florida. We'd driven there in an MGB, so there was NO room to bring home the tricycle! Dad had to 'ship' it to us in Florida. What a riot. It was also a bit too big for my son, so dad bolted wood blocks onto the pedals so Chris could reach to ride! I remember it well. :-)

All of my kids had the red tricycle, and I even bought it for my grandkids. I remember watching them stand on the back, holding the shoulders of the child that was actually doing the pedaling and off they went. I think every kids should have a little red tricycle
