  • Swisstoons Dec 30, 2011 @ 6:37 am | delete
Your terrific lens has made me very hungry for red fruit. I enjoy several of these each week. I wish Pomegranates were easier to eat, though. I believe I've read that the pigments which make colorful fruit and vegetables so good for us are actual mild poisons which spur the body to produce health-enhancing hormones in response. (I think I've got that right!).

  • athena2011 Nov 4, 2011 @ 1:09 pm | delete
Love the tomato humor. Is it definitely a fruit or is that still up for discussion?

Strawberries have always been my favorite of the red fruit. I could sit and eat half a quart (if that's the size they normally come in) as I get home from shopping. They are so good.

Trying to eat more healthily as time passes to try to maintain good health. Just as a tip for you visitors, eat lots of fruits

Summertime is for fresh fruits and veggies! I'm at the local farmer's stand about twice a week these days. Peaches and Nectarines are in season and that's what I plan on taking home with me today. I'm trying a dessert tonight of a cheesecake mixture that you bake in a halved peach . . . sounds yummy to me! :)

I love this red fruity lens!!! It's being lensrolled to my vegetarian recipes page. I too am an avid fruit eater -- especially tomatoes, cherries, strawberries, and red raspberries. :):):) I even read that strawberries help whiten teeth. There are plenty of fruit farms around where I live so I always go berry picking every summer!

I love tomatoes. In Spain they give you tomato pulp (without skin) at breakfast. Doesn't sound great but tastes delicious on a slice of toasted artisanal bread drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and a touch of salt. Often it's the simple things in life that are the best!
  • GonnaFly Mar 9, 2011 @ 4:32 pm | delete
Mmmm. My favourite would have to be raspberries. Got to admit that I've never tried pomegranates though.

What a beautiful, delicious lens! I love fruits and veggies and as I'm trying to get much healthier, I've been making sure to eat as many as possible...that's one of the reasons I can't wait until spring and summer so I can get fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies. :-)
  • totalhealth Feb 2, 2011 @ 2:21 pm | delete
nice lens. when i cook, i try to add fruits or veggies whenever i can, sometimes chopping or slicing them thinly so that kids won't notice.
  • Beas Jan 31, 2011 @ 4:39 am | delete
Like your green veggies lens another wonderful lens. When I was a kid we sometimes ate tomatoes as a fruit with a little sugar. Some people frown upon that but it really tastes good.
  • WindyWinters Jan 31, 2011 @ 4:44 am | delete
Thanks for visiting my fruit & veggie lenses. I often add a finely chopped carrot to spaghetti sauce if its bitter. When I'm lazy, I add a teaspoon of sugar. LOL.

I like most of your choices. The only ones I don't really like are plums and nectarines. As for fresh strawberries, or raspberries, I prefer the raspberries. There are bushes across the street from my house that belong to the city, but I'll sneak over a pick a few when I see them. Great lens!

Terrific #100 lens. Great list of Red Fruits here. My favorite is raspberries -- I like to eat them plain for a snack and sometimes in a bowl with milk. I also like raspberry jam. Don't care for cranberries, but do love strawberries. Especially on angel food cake with whipped cream, or as strawberry shortcake on a still warm biscuit (with a bit of whipped cream, of course!). Apples were a big crop in upstate New York when I was growing up, so love apples too.
