Costume And Decorating Ideas For Red Solo Cups
I have some pretty easy craft ideas for costume accessories to make from a cup. Very fashionable I must say. ha ha ha
There are also some ideas on ways to decorate your house with Red Solo Cups.
Please keep in mind that this is an idea page. Things are tacked together for illustration purposes. Not what I would consider a finished product.

Make A Hat With Red Solo Cups
Glue your cup to the top of a head band. You will have a lovely hat.Make two and play a ball toss game with a friend.

You could also turn the cup upside down to make a top hat.
Make a small hole on opposite sides near the white edge.
Run a ribbon though each hole and tie a knot in it. Use the tail of the ribbon to tie under your chin.
Crafts Made From Red Cups
Red Solo Cup Bracelet
To make the Bangle Bracelet, make a small hole to start cutting . Cut around the first ridge on the cup if you want it the size in the first picture.There are ridges around the red part of the cup that make a good guide for cutting. Make it as wide as you would like.
For the Cuff Style Bracelet, turn the cup upside down and cut from the white rim to the bottom of the cup. Next carefully cut around the bottom of the cup and you will end up with a circle that you can use for something else.
The bracelet will just slip over your wrist and arm by way of the cut you make down the side of the cup. Put the white rim end to the wider part of your arm. If it is too big as it is, you can cut off some to make it fit you arm closer or just pull it to where it fits and tape it.
I added a rhinestone bracelet to the bottom of this one.

Wear it on top or one on each side.
You could also put you hair in a bun in the back and use the cup over the bun. Push the comb down from the top of your bun and slip the cup over.

As mentioned in the video, that finished project could be used for several different things. Set a candle inside or turn it up side down and hang it.
I can see the upside down version being used in place of a solid cup to make a string of lights. ( that video is included on my Red Solo Cup Line dance and Costume page)
You could also glue a stick to the back and make it look like flowers on a stem.

But now that I have ribbon, the possibilities are almost limitless.
After I finished cutting at the width I used, i ended up with about 4 yards. There are so many things you could do with that.

How To Make Flowers Or Pin Wheels Out Of Red Solo Cups
I cut the cup from the rim to the bottom on opposite sides first, then went back and cut those sides into 3rds. I was left with 6 "flower petals".
You will have to play with it a little at the bottom to get the right bend in the petal so it will come forward some. It is inclined to bend backward, but that's not hard.
Attach a craft stick to the back of your flower and there you have it. I used another cup in reverse to make a red and white flower then added a cup bottom saved from another project to make the contrasting center for the flower.
For outside, put your stick straight into the ground or fill another cup with dirt to make a vase for your flower and decorate with it inside.

Take a red strapless dress and add a white lip to the top.
Sew or glue a fabric strip to the inside of the dress and then flip it out so that it shows on the outside.
Use a red shower wrap.
Attach a white feather boa around the top.

How To Make Red Solo Cup Game Award Ribbons
Cut away all the petals except one. Cut that petal into four strips and there you have it.
You could use the red side for 1st place and the white side for 2nd or grab some blue cups and make ribbons in blue for 1st.
Or make them all red and use a permanent marker and write 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the circle.
Apply velcro dots to the back side of the ribbon. When it comes time for awards, remove the layer of paper covering the sticky party. Stick it on the winners shirt, or present without velcro.

How To Make Red Solo Cup Roses
This is real easy!
1. Get an artificial rose bud with a long stem.
2. Separate the bud from the stem.
3, Poke a small hole in the bottom center of the cup.
4. Push the stem though the hole.
5. Put a small spot of glue where the stem goes in the hole.
6. OR push about 1/2 inch of the stem through the hole and reach inside the cup and bend the stem over so it would come out.
I used the tip of my pen to make the small hole. You can use the point of scissors or whatever. Just make the hole a small as possible. Enough just to get the stem started though and push it so it will be tight.
Make 1 or a dozen or a million. Share the love with everyone!
You could also make bags of candy to put inside the cup.

Make A Crown Or Tiara From Red Solo Cups
It wouldn't be a party without Party Hats! Here is a way you can make a crown or tiara out of a cup.
1. Cut the cup from the white lip down to the last ridge before the bottom.
2. Cut around the cup until you have just the bottom piece left.
3. Find the center on the opposite side of the cup from where you made the cut down the side. Make a cut on either side of the center so that you will end up with about a 1/2 inch tab.
4. Work down either side first. Start with the cut where you made the tab and make a cut side ways, then down again. Those cuts can be as large or small as you would like, mine were between 1/4 and 1/2 inches. You are basically cutting steps.
5. When you get to the bottom of one side, turn the cup around and cut the same way down the other side.
6. You can leave it as is or I took my paper hole punch and made holes to resemble diamonds on the crown. You could also use stick on rhinestones in place of making holes or create a nice design with the holes.

7. Place a hairband on the back side of the crown. Let the crown over lap the hair band lust a little so it won't show from the front. You may want to use a white one if you have it, to match the rim of the cup or use one to blend with your hair.
8. Glue the hairband in place.
