What is RedGage?

RedGage is a unique social networking and bookmarking site. As a RedGage member, you earn money for your content and for your interactions with other members. For those who participate on popular social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, and YouTube, RedGage can serve as a hub that helps organize and centralize a wide variety of creative ventures and interactions.

On RedGage you have the option to upload many different types of content: photos, blogs, documents, videos, and links to your websites. You earn income when others view your content. Additional bonuses are offered when your content is selected for special features.

Why Backlinks Matter

If you are experienced in online marketing, you already know that getting the right backlinks to your sites is extremely important. For those new to affiliate marketing, article marketing, or e-commerce, quality backlinks serve several key purposes:

#1.Backlinks help your content get found.

#2.Backlinks help your search engine page rank.

#3.Backlinks impact your website traffic.

Photos Are Popular On RedGage

This photo of a Northern Flicker earned me my first bonus and RedGage feature.

Earn Money While Getting Backlinks

RedGage Backlinks

My primary purpose for RedGage membership is search engine optimization (SEO) and getting more traffic to my blogs and websites. I consider any money I make on RedGage to be a bonus.

I have earned a little over $68. That income consists of five bonuses for photos I uploaded (the Northern Flicker photo above was the first bonus feature), for the visits that others have made to see my photos and content, and for winning the daily contest ($25 VISA card).

Perhaps the most important thing is the number of hits I am receiving. As you can see, traffic to my content is rapidly increasing.

Getting Started

It is simple and free to join RedGage. I am providing a link here to get you started. If you join through my referral link, I will earn 20 points toward the daily contest. Here is my commitment to you: If I win the contest, I will invest the $25 in helping others through random acts of kindness. So this is a win-win proposition.

When you join, please be sure to enter my RedGage user name, TheGoodLife, in the referral box. After signing up, I hope you will let me know you have joined so I can follow your content and network with you through the Friend and Subscribe features.

Maximizing Your RedGage Activity

Link Your Squidoo Content

Once you join RedGage, you will want to immediately upload content. The very first thing I did was to link my content on Squidoo to RedGage. It is very simple to do this and there are excellent tutorials for getting a quick start. I immediately gained new traffic and backlinks to my Squidoo web pages as soon as I started promoting them on RedGage. Here is a screenshot of the links that I have on RedGage so you can visualize how your content will look once uploaded.

RedGage Photo Feature

This photo of a black bear earned me my third bonus and feature.

This link will take you to my photos.

Link Your Zazzle Store

If you don't already have a Zazzle storefront, you may want to consider creating one at the same time that you begin to build your online identity and visibility on RedGage. I created a Zazzle store to showcase my RedGage photos.

I am providing this example of my initial Zazzle line of products created as a result of my RedGage activity. I sold some of my Zazzle products on the very first day they were listed. If you want to begin selling on Zazzle, this link will get you started: Start Selling Today.

Photographic Essentials

Photoshop is an essential software tool for all of my photographic ventures. I use Photoshop on all of my RedGage submissions, as well as to produce products for my Zazzle stores and other fine art web sites. There are many different versions of Photoshop and this link will take you to view all of your options. Most are available for immediate download and some have free 30-day trial versions.

Link Your Wizzley Content On RedGage

Online entrepreneurs are beginning to cross-promote their products and websites by publishing content on the new Wizzley site. Wizzley users are reporting some exciting results in terms of strong page rankings and quick indexing of newly published content. I recently joined Wizzley and plan to link and promote my Wizzley articles on RedGage.

  • RenaissanceWoman2010 Mar 31, 2012 @ 9:54 am | delete
Yes. Absolutely. You sure can link to your blog from your Squidoo pages. That's why many people are here. Great question. Thanks for asking.

Soon, I hope. When I do, I will return here and use your referral link. Thanks so much for the concise explanation and the screen shots! Blessed.

Thoroughly detailed lens about how Red Gage can help overall with backlinks. I will be joining Red Gage soon, and I will be sure to join through your link here so that you get the credit. :)
  • kathysart Jan 18, 2012 @ 2:07 pm | delete
Gosh.. I used to be so much better about all of this.. thanks so much for updating ME. Blessed
  • poddys Jan 8, 2012 @ 5:32 am | delete
I think that RedGage can help with backlinks, but unless you get the bonuses or a lot of traffic, I find the earnings to be meagre, and then the Visa Debit card they give you ends up with deductions being made every time you use it. I don't think RedGage on it's own is a great way to earn income, but as a part of the puzzle every bit counts, and the backlinks are definitely useful to have.
  • Susan_Moss_Art Jan 3, 2012 @ 4:30 am | delete
Thank you for this interesting lens. I have been a member of redgage for awhile, but did not realise I could link to Squidoo. I am heading off there now to check it out. Your photography is stunning.
  • pablina Jan 1, 2012 @ 5:36 am | delete
Great lens about Redgage. I just wish they would change their payment method. However as you said, it is the backlinks and traffic from Redgage that is the biggest reward for using the site.

I joined Redgage a couple of weeks ago, so far so good. I still haven't managed to get the automatic upload from Flikr and Youtube to work, but otherwise is seems like a good site. :) Nice lens!

Hi...I signed up for Redgage but haven't been able to draw much traffic after posting my Squidoo lenses there. This will help me put things into perspective.
  • Tenzho Nov 10, 2011 @ 6:34 am | delete
I sign up for Redgage a long time ago and remembered it back. Then I started linking my Squidoo lens to Redgage. It is so unbelievable that you can get 2k+ views from Redgage. Do you need tons of friends on Redgage inorder to get trafiic?
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 Nov 10, 2011 @ 6:49 am | delete
Excellent question. I don't think you need tons of friends on RedGage, but rather the right friends who will subscribe to you. I focus on the quality of the connection. It really helps if your RedGage supporters help you by sending traffic your way (through Twitter, Facebook, etc.). I wish you much success. Thanks for stopping by!
  • savenlives Nov 6, 2011 @ 11:46 am | delete
something must be wrong with the site, I tried to signup (after clicking on your referral link) and it doesn't go to a sign up page, just seems to refresh the page you are on. Weird, I will keep trying, thanks for the great info though :)
  • savenlives Nov 6, 2011 @ 11:43 am | delete
after reading this, I think I am ready to open an acccount! Thanks for all the great info!!
  • KimGiancaterino Nov 4, 2011 @ 7:59 pm | delete
I signed up for RedGage, but could never get it to work. Maybe they've since fixed the uploading bugs. Thanks for the informative tips. I will give it another try.
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 Nov 5, 2011 @ 8:34 am | delete
Fortunately, those uploading bugs seem to have been fixed. RedGage was new and in beta mode, so I think it is normal that they had some initial glitches to work out. Thanks for the blessing. Appreciated!
  • spartakct Nov 4, 2011 @ 8:48 am | delete

  • BestToysReviews Nov 4, 2011 @ 8:42 am | delete

I am already using redgage among others for backlinking. I love Redgage for photos tho. I realized that photos do well there. Now it reminds me I haven't been on RG at all in over 2 weeks I need to go :)
  • zentao Nov 2, 2011 @ 11:40 am | delete
I have been on redgage for over a year now, and I love it. You back she done quite a lot better than me in terms of money… But I mainly do it for traffic anyhow. Unlike you I have had enough of that
  • Paula7928 Oct 30, 2011 @ 12:01 am | delete
