Fixing Up My Master Bedroom

...so I can sell or rent my house... The picture there is the "before" picture. This lens is just one of several about how I am trying to improve my whole house, inside out, by myself and on a tight budget, in order to make it saleable or rentable by fall of 2010.

If you're interested, mark me down and come back and visit from time to time to see how I'm progressing! Send me links to places that could be helpful and post words of advise, too!

Sounds simple enough, if slightly insane .. but then, there's the rest of the house that has to be done first!

Right now, my teenage son uses this room when he's not away at school. Mostly to throw his clothing on the floor, as he lives in the Family Room.

This room has a nice little Bay Window that looks out over the backyard and a pond in need of work. That isn't stained glass in the window, it's a peel off thing that blocks the sun.

Obviously, the room needs to be cleaned up and it needs to be staged to look like a Master Bedroom - here are some more things it needs:

1. The wooden floors may need refinishing -- once my son goes back to school and I can see the floors, I'll know.

2. The closets need doors.

This is the room I'd like to add a second bath to if I decide to sell -- the wall by the Bay Window leads to the Pantry off the Kitchen, which would be a nice little 2nd bath attached to this room.

Needs to be done cheaply, though. I'm on a tight budget! And this is a teeny house - it just isn't going to have anything huge.

well you can do little to the room and still make it look good! You can varnish the floor and its your option to wax it, since you are on a tight budget. You could get some new windows in, the stained glass doesnt look too appealing. Maybe double slided doors for the closet. Clean it up and it should look better.
