- I had a friend who had a red wedding dress, she had asked her guests to wear black and white so she really stood out in her wedding photos! Another top wedding related lens, I've given you 5 stars
Red Wedding Bouquets and Flowers
Maybe you prefer to wear a more traditional white wedding gown but will be carrying an all red or red and white bouquet. You can also have the church orreception hall and tables decorated with red flowers.
The color red comes in all shades from magenta to a deep wine. You can select a more traditional bouquet or table floral arrangement of all deep red roses or you can have the roses mixed with stargazer lilies, white lilies, white roses, red tulips or many other combinations of flowers.
The red flowers can be mixed with many other colors such as orange, gold, greens to coordinate the time of the year of your wedding.
Red Accessories
Red Wedding Favors
You can incorporate red into your wedding favors to keep the look coordinated. Red wedding favors would look great for Christmas, Valentine or Asian themed weddings. For a wedding planned in the fall, a deeper shade of red such as burgundy would look great coordinated with other fall colors. A red wedding theme works well anytime of the year.As you know, red is an extremely strong color and too much on the reception tables can be very harsh on the eyes and can affect people in many different ways. If you want to use red favors at each place setting, then everything else on the tables can have more subtle colors allowing for the red favors to really standout.
For the Christmas wedding, using red ornaments or other seasonal favors can be great fun and add a warmth of color to your tables. For Valentine weddings, how about a red heart shaped wedding favor. For the Asian themed wedding, the favors can be complimented with gold, black or white.
The red accents on your reception tables will be both memorable and exciting for your guests and with the right combination will make a lasting impression.
Wear a Red Tiara
Rather than wearing a wedding veil, how about wearing a red jeweled or red floral tiara that you can coordinate with your red wedding gown.If wearing all red wedding gown and an all red tiara is too bold of a statement, then only have a small amount of color on the dress or tiara. Maybe you are wearing an all white or mostly white wedding gown but want to have a dash a color. An all red or red and white tiara would look great.
Red Wedding Jewelry
If you are wearing a white wedding dress and prefer to wear a red necklace, earrings or bracelets, you have many choices. The red jewelry that you select can be more vintage or very trendy. If you want the red color worn around your neck, could be set in all red or red and white gemstones, Swarovski crystals, red ruby stones with white freshwater pearls. Keep in mind that the type of necklace you select should compliment your gowns neckline or strapless bodice.
The Groom is Wearing Red Accents
The Groom and the groomsmen can be coordinated by wearing a red tie or bow tie, red vest or waistcoat, red cummberbund, red lapel flower, red boutonniere or red cufflinks. The shade of red selected can be darker in hue or match the brides wedding gown. The splash of red fabric can be a solid red or a pattern with mostly red. Red on the groom will let him feel confident and look good.If the groom wants to be bold, he can select a red jacket. I would not suggest that the groom or groomsmen wear red jackets if the bride or bridesmaids are wearing all red dresses.

Red Wedding Cake
To keep your red wedding theme going, why not have an all red wedding cake with accents colors in gold, black, white beige or yellow. If an all red cake is too much for you, you can select a white cake with red flowers or other decorations, a red and white cake or a red with any other color of your choice. For the wedding planned around Christmas or Valentines's Day, red accents would look great on the cake. For a more traditional Chinese wedding, a red designed cake might be more appropriate.
Another option to having the red on the outside of the cake, is to have the red on the inside. A red velvet cake. The red velvet wedding cake would be great around Christmas, Valentine's Day or anytime of the year. The cake could have white chocolate between the layers and on the outside white fondant or frosting.
