The City of Natchitoches and the Cane River National Heritage Area recently received the highest national award for historic preservation from First Lady Laura Bush. Natchitoches and the Cane River National Heritage Area jointly applied for one of four 2007 Preserve America Presidential Awards. The award was given to the area because of their success in promoting "heritage tourism," and attracting visitors interested in the area's past and culture.

- It's not often that north Louisiana gets recognition! Great work! 5-star lens. I hope Bossier becomes the home for Cyber Command and brings in thousands of jobs.
