WELCOME! Who Says Girls Can't Fish-I know many REEL FisherGirls! Fishing is a fun sport and finding resources just for girls/women is hard to do. That is what REEL FisherGirl is all about! If you're a girl or you know a girl who loves fishing- This is the right place! Here, girls will find all kinds of resources from books about fishing, finding fishing gear for girls, apparel for girls who fish, talking about girls fishing and even blogs about girls fishing. It's ALL ABOUT- THE REEL FISHERGIRL HERE! Fishing participation according to The National Sporting Goods Association has dropped in 2009. Down from 2008.. Those of us that are passionate about fishing, as recreation or a sport, need to team up to keep fishing a great tradition. As a group we need to promote fishing to young people. Lets step up and make fishing fun for youth!

Is Fishing On The Decline?
Not if we stick together!
Fishing is a fun sport and according to The National Sporting Goods Association -The 2008 Women's Participation- Ranked by Percent Female-Participated more than once (in millions)-Seven (7) years of age and older was- Percent Female-32.5%=Plenty of REEL FisherGirls! I am glad I'm not alone! However, the 2009 Participation total for males and females for the sport of fishing dropped -Those Participated more than once (in millions)Seven (7) years of age and older was only 32.9% a Change* of -22.0%(*Percent Change is from 2008)Hopefully, this is in part due to the economy. Just as all industries the drop in the economy has its effects on fishing participation too.
In addition,this should also tell us, that we as REEL FisherGirls or anyone who loves to fish, need to stick together and promote fishing any way we can! Lets get those kids out there and let them have some fun experiences fishing! I personally have so many great memories of fishing with family, those good times are etched in my mind forever! Please take a kid fishing today and make some lasting memories! They will someday thank you for it!

- I fish only a little. How can you Not when your vacation destination every year is the Mammoth Lakes area in the Sierra Nevada. You have a good start on your Squidoo lenses. At first it is slow go with visitors and fans. It will build as long as you do too.
