Reflections In Nature, The Ultimate Meditation
Sometimes it requires a departure from the routine of every day life, an escape to a place where cell phones, gridlock and mindless chatter are peacefully absent.
I escape to the woods to protect my sanity as often as I can. When I come upon a quiet spot to reflect, I have to say, that is when I feel completely at peace and content. Reflections in nature have a way of restoring peace and balance to my "world" life
Sometimes just mentally escaping into a photograph or painting can help if a physical escape isn't possible. I chose some reflective moments captured of both literal reflections in nature and well as images of nature that spoke to me. I hope you enjoy them as well.

Just Listen To The Quiet
Often in nature there is much noise, similar to a bustling city. Nature has it's own distinct sounds; birds chattering and singing, bees and other insects buzzing by, water flowing in some fashion, the wind meandering through the trees. There is most often a symphony of sound in nature. Occasionally, however, we can catch nature in it's inspiring silence.
I have a favorite saying and that is; "listen to the quiet". If you contemplate the quiet, I believe after a bit, you can actually hear it.

The reflections the moon creates, especially when full and the sky cloudless are some of my favorite reflections. How amazing that something can be so bright in the middle of the night, casting a glow that can't be felt, but surely can be sensed.
