Refurbished tvs - refurbished plasma tvs & refurbished lcd tvs - Is it safe?

Most big box electronic retailers, like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. offer a 30 day money back guarantee. Esssentially, that means that if, for whatever reason, a customer is not satisfied with a purchase, he can return it for a full refund. So, even if a tv is in perfect condition but it does not fit the space provided, or it doesn't accommodate his needs, (think plasma vs. lcd), he is entitled for a refund. According to Consumer Laws,the store can not just resell this tv. They send it back to the manufacturer, where it is inspected, serviced (if necessary), thoroughly tested and repackaged. Now this tv is as good (or better, because it has been tested)as new. But it is labeled as a "refurbished tv".

If you're looking to buy a tv, you're probably expecting to pay between $1,000. and $3,000. Now, imagine if you can cut 30% - 40% off the bill?
