Reggae Music Hits
I love Reggae Music! In case you didnt know, reggae is a style of music whose roots start in Jamaica and is closely linked to the Rastafari movement.
Reggae music has many different styles from ska, roots to dance hall. It' founded upon its riddem style, which is characterized by regular chops on the backbeat, played by the rhythm guitarist and the bass drum often hitting on the third beat of each measure-- this is called the "one drop."
The legendary Bob Marley who first made reggae into an international phenomenon. Following his success in the 1970s came a host of other names like the Congos and a host of others.
It wasn't long before reggae became an established genre of music. But reggae was simply the growth, the development, of what had been happening in Jamaican music.
Beginning with ska, and then rock steady, the most irie island in the world had declared its real musical independence, and had already made an imprint on the world.
