Activities For Living Happily Ever Avatar

Some of you may know me from Dear Squidoo, the open letter to the Squidoo Community I wrote after leaving Squidoo last year (and then returning.) I found a lot of healing in writing publicly about how I went 'from a fresh squid, to a giant squid, to a dead squid, in less than 6 weeks'. There is something to be said for employing radical self-honesty, even when the stakes are high. It can bring about a transformation that is nothing short of miraculous, because honesty brings one from the downward spiral of falsity to the upward motion of truth, in the span of a heart beat. Once the transformation has occurred, how is it maintained? Can 'Happily Ever After' happiness really exist?

Dear Squidoo Part Two

The reunion, the resurrection & the after life

Dear Squidoo is an upbeat lens I've been told. The feedback from it is that it's been an inspiration for many on Squidoo to read. As far as the bipolar personality goes, Dear Squidoo speaks to the up side of the flipped coin, so to speak. As I write this lens, internally I am experiencing the under side of the coin. I woke up this morning and the coin had flipped in the night. Circumstances, conditions, and alignment with a higher purpose are out somehow, and the experience is an anguishing one. To the sensitive sort, perhaps even to the psychic, clairvoyant and empathic sorts, things can get confusing here. Yesterday, the experience was one of being 'high' on life, or riding on the wings of love, and today there is a freight train of energy fighting for release. It feels like anger. It feels like grief. It feels like anxiety. It feels like crazy, giddy laughter. But it's none of those things- it's just energy. And how it comes out can impact my environment and those I love. So I am using Squidoo once again as personal therapy, to write my way back to love, about the ways I spend time with my favorite spiritual Avatars.

Avatars

Invisble teachers of love

For the past couple of years, as a family we've been working on 'being love' and addressing karma. I left my family in 2008 for a couple of weeks when I couldn't re-enter the world after an illuminating spiritual experience. The foundations of my roles in life had been blown out by the discovery of Truth and I was no longer the wife, mother, daughter or friend I that used to be. I was still all those things in action, but the motivations behind that personality had died and everything changed about the way I interacted in the world. More spiritual experiences ensued when I was in Arizona in 2008 contemplating where "I" was at after a great dismantling of ego. I suppose it was somewhat of a mid-life crisis- but for me it was a very intense 'I'm not ever, ever, ever being reborn again crisis'. I wanted to find the way to undo the karma of all previous lifetimes of action and surrender my life and attachments to God/Destiny/Truth/Reality. I didn't, however, have a clue how to do that. A bright green rock, though, spoke to me from the dry red Arizona earth; when I picked it up, it told me to take back home all that represented love. Apparently love was the answer, and is the answer, and is the preemptive solution to all future problems too. I did take love back home; I returned to my family, and it's true- love heals. It brings up that which needs healing, too- all of the broken ropes, the broken promises and broken hearts come forward for recognition and repair. And sometimes, when something really big comes up for healing that seems too big for me to handle with 'my' love, I invite an Avatar into my life to handle it. These are times when Avatar Activities come in handy, because one's favorite Avatar always knows exactly how to be love, in any circumstance. I contemplate how Jesus was love until the end, and asked forgiveness of his enemies right up to the point of death. If he can do that, he can surely referee a tough group of toddlers, teens, or top dogs. Invite an Avatar to dinner, or to breakfast, or to the board room. Buckle an Avatar into the passenger seat and drive to work with love beside you. Ask an Avatar to join a heated discussion with your spouse. Ask an Avatar to parent for an afternoon. Set a place for Jesus, or Krishna, or WhoEver, and see what the love of your favorite Avatar can do.

Avatar Activities are mostly mental. They are occurring within. In our family, setting a place for Jesus is a regular occurrence now, though at first, it felt kind of weird saying things out loud. Now it's no big deal to just ask Him for the salt, or offer the roast beef.
