Good Books for a Rainy Day
Things To Check Out
Is it worth reading Christian books even if you don't practice Christianity?
Lord of the Flies - William Golding
Intense Christian Fiction
This is by far one of the greatest works of Christian Fiction I have ever read. The first, time I read it I was only sixteen years old and since then I have read it once again every year. My original copy is so riddled with notes in the margins and I think it is about time I update to a new copy. However, I seem to be getting sidetracked. On first glance this appears to be an in depth look at what children are like without rules. However, as you continue to read it you will find that it reminds you of something. It make strike out to you on the very first reading or it may take you a couple of turns but you will see that it is a pure and simple allegory for the new testament. This is my first recommendation if you have not already read it.

The Screwtape Letters - C.S. Lewis
Like Dear Mr. Henshaw with Devils
Classic. It's written by a older devil to a younger one answering questions on how to manipulate man. It's a darker read but it is well worth it. Short and sweet you will probably be able to finish it on one rainy afternoon.C.S. Lewis is well known for his Narnia series but his other works are often overlooked. This would be an excellent introduction to those.

I listened to it on audiobook while I would do dishes and it was a great book! It really did open my eyes up to some possible thoughts of devils and how they treat us and other people. A must read for everyone, even for just some fun reading on the weekends. Great job for mentioning it here!

It's been many years since I've read this book, but it is really insightful into the traps and temptations that are so common and often so small and subtle that we don't notice. An excellent book.

The Scarlet Letter is a really great book and The Shack is just one of those books that you HAVE to read before you EVER say anything about it. A great lens, now you just need more books! Keep up the good work!

A Brief Review
Left Behind not quite LEFT BEHIND
This is the first book in an extended series of mystery, religious, thriller style books. It describes the chronicals of a group of Christians left behind with the coming of the end of days. It is diffrent from the previous two books in that most of the meaning sits right on top of the surface. It requires litle thought to understand the meaning but in the directness of the words it provides the reader with a great deal of self reflection. Is this how I would act? Would I fight? Would I hold onto my beliefs? These are questions to consider in reading this epic series. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. by bbraneff
