Reloading Bullets

The how and why of reloading bullets, and just some fun I have had with reloading. I have reloaded for a long time and it has always worked for me. I have had fun reloading for friends and family also. This is just a internet image, mine is a rifle set up - I am too lazy to get a picture yet. I will get a photo now I have built my reloading bench in the office where I am working online. I spent a few hours talking to my old hunting partner a day ago and he is wanting to try it again and wants to buy a new rifle to teach his grand children to hunt deer. I suggested the Remington .708 because I wanted one it would be an idea of a good gun to check out in his search .

“This Is A Good Reason To Reload Bullets”

Reloading Bullets

I started reloading about twenty five years ago and have always enjoyed the satisfaction of having done it myself. It was a fun venture from the start. I have impressed quite a few people in the past.

I have never hunted Griz but hope to never get in the way of one either they can sure be a beautiful animal but are better left alone unless you are really prepared. In Canada there is a few places there are seasons on the animals but it is very tightly regulated because of the delicate natural balance of the environment that remains for these amazing animals.

I seen a grizzly cub the other day at least I am fairly it was not a black bear and I know they are in the region where I was at and they are on the salmon river we were driving by. It was a rare treat for me and they are very seldom seen close to a highway .

The one that comes to mind was one of my first hunting partners in the northwest - he was in the Canadian forces for a while and I was surprised how little he new of ballistics. I guess what you are interested in is what you learn and when he was in the army it was not what he wanted to learn. He was a good average shot, I guess.
He had shot big game before I knew him but when it came to the long range shooting he had a lot to learn. I had just loaded rounds for his 308 and finished the test shots and we had decided to try five hundred yards next, so just to make it fun we went up to the range and I set the targets up.

What I did was put a high target then got him to help as I used the tape measure to plumb the second target and put it below at his exact bullet drop. Then we backed off to five hundred yards and I told him to just aim for the center of the top target. He took three shots and we went up for a look and he was a little put out when nothing was on the top target.

Then I laughed and showed him his three shots on the bottom target - two of them were with in six inches of center. The other was off the target a little but not bad. He was happy when he figured out he could do this and all his ranges were in the manual because we had just used the recommended Speer load and all the ranges and velocity were there in the Speer reloading manual.
