LEGO 8183: Remote Control Lego Car

This is a very cool small RC car, easy to build and fun to play with. Released in 2009, as of the end of 2010 it was discontinued, and sets available now are from old stock, and often heavily overpriced compared to the original price of US$39.99. You may get much better bang for your buck looking at current RC car sets such as the ones listed below.

As well as cars, LEGO makes some amazingly detailed mechanical models in the Technic line which are remote controlled. Some of these are RC right out of the box, while others are designed to take LEGO Power Functions RC parts as add-ons, with details on how to install them into the model right in the original instructions. In some ways, RC on a bulldozer or an excavator is even more interesting than on a car - you can do more with it, even if you can't race them. Well, I suppose you could race them too!
