About The Remote Control Power Strip

I was looking for a power strip surge protector that could be switched on and off to conserve electricity. I was not really excited about crawling around the back of my entertainment center though. Then I found this item. I now have all my components hooked up and the product works great. The remote toggles between on and off (think like how a light switch clicks between on and off) which was kind of a surprise. I was very pleasently surprised to find that the remote works right through the closed wood door of my entertainment center, turning off the strip tucked inside. The two always on outlets are nice to have for components such as DVR's. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommended it to a friend.

I needed a convenient way to shut down power to most of my home audio/video components, including a digital temperature controller to keep the back of my plasma TV within reasonable limits. This surge protector does the job, perfectly with it's simple on/off button. The other nice thing about it is that it has a couple of "always-on" receptacles for things like the satellite receiver.
Highly recommended!

I have 2 of these, one for my office to which I have the monitor, speakers, printer and pc connected for powering down, and my desk lamp and router in the 2 outlets that never shut down. I know I'm saving electricy, which in turn is saving the environment as well as my wallet. I have the other in my bedroom on my bedroom 'theater'. Saving energy for the environment is my intention. I'm following the guidence of Jiminy Cricket and his "Environmentality!!"
