More than One Remote in the House? You Probably Need a Remote Organizer

Do you have more than one remote control in your house? Do you have multiple people who use them? Do you ever misplace your remote control? If the answer is yes, a remote organizer may be something you need or should at least consider.

We'll show you some organizers that can save your remote and preserve your sanity when you want to find it.

Styles

The most common style for remote organizers are table top models which merely set on a desk, table, or other surface. Some of these will spin or rotate while others are fixed. They come in plastic, leather, vinyl, and wood. The specific designs vary and there are some priced for any budget.

The other style of remote organizer is a chair arm design. These are usually cloth and merely lay over the arm of the chair so that they are within easy reach. Some of these are designed especially for the bed. A chair arm remote organizer is among the least expensive.

Choosing a Remote Organizer

Making a selection should be rather simple. The following things might be taken into consideration.

  • The number of controls to be contained in the remote organizer. Obviously, if you have 4 or 5 controls to deal with, you want as many slots within the organizer. In addition you may want to include other items. Some organizers offer space for eye glasses, a cup, tissues, or even a cell phone.

  • Finish and design. If you want the remote organizer to compliment your room decor, you'll need to browse the selection for an appropriate finish and design. From a sleek aliminum finish, to natural hardwood there is a range of options.

  • Location and special needs. If you only have a couple of remotes and someone has restricted mobility, then the chair arm design might be preferrable. However, if everyone in the house wants access to multiple remotes, a central location on a table in the room with a desk top model might be better. Of course a model that rotates or is stacked makes access to everything in the organizer faster and easier if that's critical.

Yeah, we have three remotes right now, and they're usually all over the place. I should get one of these. Once it was lodged so deep in behind the couch cushion, we didn't even see it for a good hour of searching.

Very creative with "stop the madness" in your title -- I've done a lens on "stop the insanity" as I think today we have got so much going on that we need time savers and need to really think about simplifying!
