Using a Q-tip and a Waterpik to Remove Tonsil Stones

I'm going to talk about two ways you can use to remove tonsil stones while you are working on the underlying cause. The first one is using a q-tip and the other one is using a waterpik.

Remember that when you are removing a tonsil stone you are removing a symptom of a greater problem. It's temporary and it will likely grow back after some time.

To prevent this and experience a throat that's lean and healthy you need to change the underlying cause, because the tonsil stones are just the effect. Just like lung cancer is the effect of smoking. This is my philosophy and you can read about it all at my page about tonsil stone symptoms.

You are now going to read how you can use a q-tip to remove any tonsillioliths that may have grown out of your tonsil crypts. After that you are going to read about how to use a waterpik in doing the same thing.

Remove Tonsil Stones With a Q-tip

First I want to continue to advice that this is not a permanent solution it's a temporary relief. Now before you begin to use a q-tip you might want to have it disinfected. You do this in order to keep your tonsils clean from any foreign bacteria. Soap and water is OK to use for this reason.

I know that some persons try to remove these blobs with their fingers. I wouldn't recommend you do this for two reasons. First, you could damage your tonsils with your nails. Second, you can cause an inflammation by exposing the tonsils to bacteria that lives on your fingers. So don't do this.. Use a q-tip instead.

When you have disinfected the q-tip you are ready to try getting the little bug out. Get in front of a mirror to see better and start to "massage" the area where the tonsil stone is located. Try side to side, up and down and circular motions as well. Find the best motion that works with you. You might want to press gently on the tonsils as you are twisting the q-tip.

Do this until the stone pops out and you want flush it down in the sink. Make sure that you use a q-tip that's stiff enough. If you have a q-tip that's to flexible you will experience a U form before you can generate enough pressure to get it out.

But you shouldn't press too hard as this can damage the tonsil and cause a sore throat. Please watch the video below on how to do it safely

Remove Tonsil Stones With a Waterpik

Clean and effective..

This is a second option that you can use to remove any tonsil stones that has been stuck in your throat. This way requires you to have a special machine called Waterpik. It's machine that was designed to massage the gums of the mouth and help to floss between the teeth.

What it does is that it flushes water through a mouthpiece and any debris can be spit out or swallowed.

We are going to use this for the tonsils. You simply fill the machine with water (you can add warm water with a bit of salt in to help dissolve the stones) and then start to flush out the tonsil crypts. You can adjust the water pressure higher or lower if you need to. Any stone that's stuck will almost instantly pop out once you start flushing.

This is a way that many find effective and more cleaner than using a q-tip. It's good that you don't need to touch the tonsil with any object other than the water. This reduce the chance or causing damage such as bleeding and irritation to the tonsils.

A Waterpik can be purchased at stores like Walmart or online at Amazon.com

Have You Ever Thought About What These Tonsil Stones Are Made of?

Well, now you know..

Tonsil stones are believed to be a mixture of food particles, bacteria, enzymes, and dead white blood cells. For some reason this gets stuck in the tonsil crypts and are eventually hardened into white rubber like stones that smells terrible.

The crypts are a hollow like formation on the tonsils which function is being debated. However, we do know that the tonsils help to produce defences against worms and parasites.

Why food particles and bacteria seem to stuck more at some people than others needs more study.. However, you should focus getting a healthy throat to solve your problem.

The Cause for Tonsil Stones

Why health is your own responsibility

To become healthy again you might want to read about the cause according to me. I've written a page about the cause for tonsil stones and it might be an interesting read if you want to see this from a new perspective.

Basically my view is that we create health by ourselves, and we do also create discomfort by ourselves. With this I mean that if we focus on health we shall experience health. If we focus on discomfort we shall experience discomfort.

To better understand what I mean try this:

Imagine a event you have had in your life where you were laughing. Most likely you will think of that event and then perhaps another thought will pop in to your head about when you laughed and then another, and another, and perhaps another one about a funny joke or something. Now after a while you might sense that you are feeling more happy than before and at some point you might begin to laugh. If this happen you have experienced the manifestation chain. From thought to emotion to manifested emotion which is when you laugh.

It's Newtons third law which is called the law of causation. Every action has an equal reaction, and it's key to understand this to completely reverse conditions in your life, but you can read more about this by viewing the following page..

Should You Remove Your Tonsils

Surgery or No Surgery?

Should you remove the tonsils all together? Many people including doctors seem to think that this is the only option to effectively get rid of the problem. If you want to remove the tonsils then you have to keep in mind that these stones are just a symptom of something not functioning as it should.

If you remove the tonsils then perhaps the problem will show itself in a different way. Some reports that the stones seem to appear further down the throat instead.
