Review of Gamefly Game Rental
I subscribed to the 1 game at a time plan, which sends me 1 game at a time for as long as I want to keep it, and they charge a flat monthly rate which is around $15 currently. That's less than $.50 per day, and with the newest games selling for around $50 to $60 a pop, this is a heck of a deal.
I received my game 2 days after I had signed up with Gamefly, which is pretty fast, and new shipping facilities are being added all the time to make shipping as fast as possible around the USA. The game was delivered in a paper sleeve, Netflix-style, and all I had to do was open it up and pop the disc in my console. The disc was in great condition and I had no problems playing at all.
One time, though, one of my discs got lost in shipping and I waited over a week for it to be delivered. Frustrated, I contacted Gamefly and they apologized profusely and airmailed me another disc. Apparently, the fault was the US Postal Service's, because I got the original game a couple days later. Gamefly told me to keep the original disc for myself as kind of a 'peace offering.' Sweet!
Buying Games from Gamefly
Sometimes I like a game so much I want to buy it. Fortunately, Gamefly has an awesome deal for those who want to buy rental games from them. I bought Final Fantasy XII from them at a nice discount, and they sent me the DVD case and manual, all in new condition. Nice.
Conclusion
All in all, Gamefly is an awesome game rental service that just keeps getting better and better. It's cheap, and has a giant selection of games for all the new consoles, as well as the Nintendo DS. Gamefly is perfect for those who want to try out a game before buying, and if they don't like it they can send it back and get a new one in a few days. So far, I've bought several games because of Gamefly, and it has saved me a TON of time and money (especially gas money!).
