Private Label Rights products are probably the best thing that has ever happened in the Internet Marketing world, especially for those who dislike writing or would like to get their own product 'out there' as quickly as possible and start earning some money.
If you're not sure what Private Label Rights products (PLR) are or have acquired some Private Label Rights products and are not sure how to go about reselling them or would like some pointers on how to resell them, then hopefully my ideas on this lens will help you.

What are Private Label Rights?
Private Label Rights are products, usually articles or e-books; there are also Private Label graphics on the Internet.With regard to e-books, you are given the 'Word' document along with your product which means that you may edit this with your own name and website before you place onto .pdf file and resell as your own work.
As far as the articles are concerned, usually they come in .txt (notepad) format although I have had some packages that have been in Word format as well. You may also put your own name on these articles too, passing them off as your own work.
In short, Private Label Rights products allow you to edit them, pass them off as your own work and resell them to others for a profit.

Read the Rules!
As with everything in life, there are rules and each Private Label package comes with its own set of rules which you must adhere to.Some packages give unrestricted Private Label Rights which means you can do absolutely anything you want with them - even pass on those Private Label rights to others.
Some packages allow you to give the product away for free and others say that you cannot. You must read the rules to each PLR package that you obtain and follow them - this way, you will not do anything wrong!

Are Private Label Products a Good Thing or a Bad Thing?
Some say they are good and some say they're bad - it depends on how you look at it.In one sense they are 'good' as you are basically given your own product that you can add your own name and website address to and pass off as your own work. This is a lot cheaper than hiring a ghostwriter and a lot quicker than having to write it yourself.
However, in another sense they are 'bad' for the simple reason that a lot of people have the same articles or e-book and unless you change the content around a little bit, your PLR product will be the same as everyone elses.
And this is the main reason I have started this lens; as I said in the introduction, hopefully I will give you a few ideas on how you can change and repackage your Private Label content to make it unique to you.

Unrestricted Private Label Rights: Articles
I am going to deal with Unrestricted Private Label Rights to give you some ideas but you must read your individual packages rules just in case there is anything I have suggested here that you cannot do with your particular product.In the case of PLR articles, you should change them around a little bit to make them your own and unique to you. Some, if not all, PLR articles come in a 'raw' state which means that they are not grammatically correct and have a spelling mistake or two.
Submitting Your Articles as Articles
Changing them around and submitting them on various article sites with a link in the resource box pointing to your website is a great way of getting traffic to your site, with not much effort on your part.
One thing I must stress here that when you place your articles on the various sites that are available, please DO NOT submit PLR articles to ezinearticles.com - they are extremely strict and will dump your article straight back at you! Just a little word of advice there!
Set Up an Adsense Site
You could also set up an Adsense site with your tweaked articles, placing the articles on site with Google adsense and some videos is a great way of using them.
Set Up a Blog
You could also use your articles on a webblog with a related e-book that you could sell. Place Adsense on your blog too for extra pennies.
Repackage Them Into a Virtual Box
You could also repackage your articles into a virtual box. Giving your customer extra's such as the graphics to go with the articles produces a brand new product that you can resell.
Place Them Into an e-Book
Yep, you can place your articles onto .pdf and turn them into an e-book! If you are able to pass on the Private Label Rights to the articles, then you can pass on the PLR rights to the e-book that you have made from them, thus giving you your very own e-book which you may sell together with the Private Label rights. This will give your product more value and you will be able to sell it for more.
Start an Ezine!
If you are thinking of starting an ezine, Private Label Rights articles would come in very handy for the content that you need and you could also give away free e-books every month.

Unrestricted Private Label Rights

Having unrestricted Private Label Rights with e-books means that although there may be others on the Internet that have the same product, if you change the graphics, the title and tweak the content, you will produce a brand new product.A lot of people seem to think that you need to give 'rights' with your product. If you are reselling to other Internet and niche marketers to help them with their online business then that is a good idea. However, you could target a completely different market and not give any rights with your e-book at all.
Selling to a Different Market
By re-packaging your Private Label Rights e-book and selling it to non Internet and Niche Marketers, you would be targeting a completely different market.
Not everyone wants to make money online and have their own IM business. There are people out there that go online to purchase informational products such as e-books as opposed to going to the local library or book store. Even Amazon now sell e-books. This also means that you do not have to give any rights at all to the e-book and you will be selling to those who have never seen it before anyway!
It is still a good idea to change the graphics especially if your original PLR product is a little old.
You could either set up a blog to sell your books, as before or you could set up a website.
Give it Away to Build Your List!
Where the license permits, you could also give the e-book away, once you have changed the graphics, to help build your list. By giving away the rights to the e-book too, such as Private Label or Master Resale Rights, would place more value on it for your subscriber.

Creating a Tangible Product with Private Label Rights
Lulu is a free online marketing website that caters for those who wish to publish their books, photographs, artwork, software, videos and audio products. If you have ever wanted to be a published author, Lulu could be the answer to your dreams.Lulu provide a storefront service where you may have your own store on site, giving your product a lot of exposure to the Lulu marketplace. Lulu also gives you other sales tools, such as self-promotion kits, web banners and buttons.
All of this is a free service, with you just having to pay for your product to be created in a tangible form. The price of producing each book for example, depends on how many pages you have and the type of binding. Once an order is received for your book, Lulu print, despatch and deliver the item to your customer on demand. This means that you do not have to keep boxes of books on your living room floor waiting for the next customer to purchase one of them.
Using a collection of Private Label e-books or articles and re-writing them to create a brand new tangible product is a great business idea. Some PLR products have audio or video attached to them, which would make your product even more valuable.
If you have written a few articles of your own on a particular subject, you could place together to form a report or book. Perhaps you have written some poetry or a story or a collection of short stories that you would like to have published. If you are a keen photographer, you could create a calendar with your photographs, publish a photo book, have your photograph framed or create a poster. Although I have only 'skimmed' the surface of Lulu and there may be other features that I have missed or even some negative aspects that I did not notice, this is something that should be looked into if you are selling online and/or would like to get involved in selling tangible products. Although it costs more to produce, your product does become more valuable and will allow you to demand a higher price.
