Vote a Republican Candidate into the White House in 2012

The problems evident in our nation are obvious to one and all. The solution is not so simple, but one thing is sure, there needs to be a return to a Republican Presidency. The Republican Party has generated interest among a wide selection of potential candidates, and now is the time to look them over. We need to choose the right man or woman to take on the incumbent President and help lead our Nation back to Peace, Prosperity, and Strength!

Newt Gingrich

Newt Gingrich -- Republican Candidate for President

Newton Leroy "Newt" Gingrich) is an American politician who served as the 58th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. He represented Georgia's 6th Congressional District as a Republican member from 1979 to 1999. Newt Gingrich's Campaign Site

Born Newton Leroy McPherson; June 17, 1943 in Harrisburg PA was raised by his mother and his adoptive father, taking his father's name at the adoption. Gingrich earned a B.A. in History from Emory University in Atlanta in 1965. He received an M.A. in 1968, and then a PhD in Modern European History from Tulane University.

Gingrich ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. House twice before winning a seat in November 1978. He was re-elected ten times. Gingrich was exceptionally active as a member of the House's Republican minority. He eventually succeeded Dick Cheney as House Minority Whip in 1989. Despite significant Democratic opposition, Gingrich won his 1992 election. Then he became Speaker of the House of Representatives in 1994 with the famous "Contract With America" for the first 100 Days of the 104th Congress.

Gingrich won his 1998 election, but the Republicans fared worse than hoped. Much of the blame was placed on Gingrich. On November 6, 1998 Gingrich announced that he would stand down as Speaker and, in fact, would not take his seat in the House.

Since leaving the House, Gingrich has remained involved in national politics. His activity has centered on National Security and Healthcare. He has also been quite outspoken on the role of religion in American public life.

Good presentation for candidates... and I like the memorabilia for each of them.
I have made my contribution creating a lens about The 21st Century Contract with America.
I think the missing piece is that Newt has a "specific - detailed" plan for recovery, the others just talk about it...

Rick Perry is the candidate for me. Thank God he got in the race because I think Romney was weak. The only down side is we'll lose an awesome Texas governor.
