Why Can't the Bible Be Better Understood?
That's a question people have struggled with since the bible came into existence late 4th early 5th CAD. It wasn't called 'bible', which like 'babel' means many voices, but the Vulgate and its compiler/author was Jerome. It was also no where near the size of modern day versions as much has been added to and also subtracted from it since then. To answer the question my research took me back to the beginning of philosophy and our primordial ancestors. It has taken over 20 years to piece the evidence of my research together to form an accurate picture of the components of the bible and religious beliefs at the time of its inception.

The Septuaginct
Origin of the Old Testament

To understand the background of what went into it this lens will take you on an amazing journey back into the Roman/Greek eras. Perhaps then you will understand why it is such a confusing document and why parts of it can be twisted to mean almost anything one wants.
The Old Testament is based on a book called the Septuagint while the New Testament was not compiled/authored until Jerome put it together at the end of the 4thCAD. His background is somewhat astounding considering the power he held in the Church and courts of the Caesars
The Romans and Greeks, as with all cultures of the time, were sun worshipers. They concentrated on ways to make the sun come to earth or to send an offspring here to teach us of the heavenly mysteries and to credit the rulers with more power.
The Greeks used the image of Apollo, the so-called 'sun of the sun'. The name breaks down into O-p-el-o which means 'circle of the parent god's circle. The fact that they could describe him as a man was explained by Plato who announced that light could take any shape, even that of a man.
The sun was the great circle, the seeing eye, and from the sun came all things, according to their beliefs, even the water we drink which falls from the sky. The image depicted shows how this was put into an iconic form.
With this background the Septuagint was compiled from the religious mythology of all these regions under the orders of Alexander (the Macedonian). Referred to in history as Alexander the Great.

It Called for Seventy Men
The authors

Orthodox is from 'or-to-d-ox' and it means 'sun's cross and circle feeding the bull', where the bull was considered the mate of Mother god. She was depicted as the 'cow'.
The image is that of Hathor as the cow transformed into a woman like figure with the horns and the sun held between them. There are archaeological sites where horns are positioned in such a way as to point towards a nearby mountain where the sun's passage creates the gleam, that is the might star that forms behind an obstacle to produce the cross and circles of rainbow colored lights. It is explained in more detail here
The Egyptians, Assyrians, Persians and others combined animal and human body parts to form potent images of their gods. The people of the time appear to believe that animals were part of god ship. That is borne out by the ancient term for soul 'anima', which is the root of 'animal'. The term 'soul' is from 'sol' which means 'sun'.
My research demonstrates that animals were believed to carry the dead into the after-life. Thus, many animals were often included in burials. The most prominent in these countries was the bull, who was also called 'ba-al' or 'bel'. In their imagination men devised all types of amazing stories of what went on with the dead after death. There was no obvious consideration given to the alternative that the dead have no after-life.
If they live on then this became a powerful force of control and the messages believed to be delivered by God were the weapons that any dictator before or since Alexander could latch onto. And they have!
For Power and Control
No one knew any different.

Alexander modeled himself on Apollo (pictured) and he created great upheaval on his way to India and then Nepal. On his return to Babylon many claim poison killed him at just 33 years old.
Under his leadership his army had raped, murdered and slaughtered the occupants of entire townships. In Tyre, for example, the chief was dragged behind a cart through the city before being crucified and hung in the central square. So he was not that well loved by those he ruled.
The book he ordered was for the purpose of taking control spiritually of the various religions and, therefore, the survivors of his violence. As most regions were isolated due to religious differences he needed to unify in order to rule. He obviously considered that once a book was written and claimed to be from God it would be accepted and unity under one religion would follow.
There is no evidence that it worked as he had planned because he probably never lived long enough to see it in action. Originally scribed in Aramaic, the language he forced over all cultures as part of the same plan, the work was quickly translated into Greek where it took on life in the Orthodox religion. The Jews also adopted it as did Islam as the basis of their books and beliefs. Sh how much have they all been taken in?.
But the book could only work if it had something for everyone. In other words it had to incorporate beliefs from several areas; they being Assyria, Persia, Egypt, Greece, even India, and so on. Choosing his seventy men, a magical number being 7x10, Ptolomy selected those with knowledge from each regions. Armed with preconceived ideas and with the text of stories related to their indoctrination there are things therein which identify who did which part of it.
The Jews, for instance, could not use the title 'god' and substituted it with 'lord'. Others used 'heaven' as a replacement and still others used 'spirit'. Thus this passage:
The spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.Genesis 1:2
This is rather odd in a story which claims that God formed man in his image, and everyone assumes it means as a man. No where else in this chapter does it mention that God is a spirit.
Among the seventy were a group of so-called Israelites who were familiar with the Jewish doctrines and prophecies given to Israel. That's how spiritual prophecy managed to get into the final work.
Once it was finished it was copied into Greek with refinements made to the text to align it as one continuous story. The story of creation, for instance, is Persian while that of the flood is from Assyria. It was found in the remains of the ancient library at Mari and dated to some 9000 years ago (ya). This predates the creation story by at least 3000 years.
Greek Copy of Septuagint
A fair swathe of it was from Egypt where notions of the reigning king sitting on a heavenly throne was introduced. Notions of heaven and hell may also have come from here. The Pharaohs were deemed to have on going power after death as rulers in the after-life and to rise up to be anointed by the sun (Mother god) as a new consort.
This ensured loyalty and people worked like slaves to ensure he had the best of everything while alive. They also ensured that his 'palace' of death, notably that in an underground cave specially constructed, as in the pyramids, would be adequate. Household members sacrificed their lives to leave with the king on his journey and ensure his reign would want for nothing. In some cases even boats and great treasures were incorporated in the tomb.
It is even more strange that this was left in, or was it put back by someone else;-
And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: ... and behold a door. . . .
So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols . . .
And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of . . . Israel . . . with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients . . . do in the dark . . . for they say, God sees us not . . .
Turn thou again and thou shalt see greater abominations . . . Then he brought me to the gate of God's house, which was toward the north; and behold there were women weeping for Tammuz . . .
And he brought me into the inner court . . .at the door of the temple . . . between the porch and the altar were about five and twenty men with their backs towards the temple . . . and their faces toward the east; and they worshiped the sun toward the east.
Then he said unto me; Is it a light thing to the House of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and . . . they put the branch to their nose..
Therefore will I also deal in fury: Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in my ear with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them. Ezekiel 8:7-18
Do You Think Creation happened in 7 days?
The bible is either correct in its claims or it contains dream time fantasies from when people had no idea about evolution or genes. If the bible is from God, the true creator, then why would it contain errors? There is no mention in it about genes or the age of the earth or even the universe. Its something of a dilemma to believe that God knew how to create but not how evolution happens or that we are the product of genetic mutation but failed to mention it. So what is your take on the authorship of the Old Testament?

I've always thought it pretty obvious that man made God in his own image, not the other way around.
That being said, I've talked to some very intelligent Christians who do not take what is written in the bible literally, but rather, allegorically. Unfortunately, there is a pretty large minority of Americans who believe that the bible is the literal word of God. There are even "unversities" in the United States that teach Genesis and the story of Noah and the Ark as having been actual historical events.

What Happened in Church
Why did God show me this?

One day while absorbed in a sermon in a Pentecostal Church the Spirit spoke to me in my head. "Open the bible." It opened at the first chapter of Genesis and I read this:
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God saw everything that he had made . . . And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:27:31.
Following this it states that God rested on the seventh day AFTER men and women were created on the 6th day.
Then it opened and I read what supposedly happened on the 8th day, after God rested.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.Genesis 2:7
Then the book opened again at this passage:
Male and female created he THEM, and called THEIR name Adam, in the day when they were created. Genesis 5:2
It then goes on to say about Adam living for 930 years and of the birth of his sons, and so forth..
I almost fell out of the chair. If men and women were created on the 6th day then why do religious leaders claim Adam was the first man and Eve the first woman? This was not picked up by me before this night and it was the start of a new search into the origin of these stories.
Don't all theologians study at university to become priests and pastors and yet they state a lie from the bible. Why? The answer is obvious. If humans exited before Adam and Eve then religion would not stand in the face of it. Eve, after all, is blamed for all of mankind's sins.
The facts are that this is a combination of stories from different areas blended into one. If you read between the lines you see that no one has ever lived for 930 years and that Adam was not the first man, as skeletal remains show. You can also see that the creation story is based on mythology from when things were not known and, therefore, were not understood. To make the gods of the day extra powerful exaggeration was employed, even to the extent of one time of life.
The tales were made up to overcome the lack of knowledge about how we got here and it is still a puzzle to many. But the Spirit demonstrated in showing me these few sentences how religion clings to the ridiculous for the sake of keeping the bible as a credible document. They can hardly do otherwise when their faith and livelihoods depend on it.

How Good is Your Knowledge?
Why Eve is Called 'Evil'
One thing led to another

The people who preach from the bible are probably the least informed of what it really says. While sticking with Genesis these facts became known to me through the guidance of the Spirit. They have to do with the identity of Eve as noted therein.
And Adam called his wife's name Eve because she was the mother of all living. Genesis 3:20
But that is a contradiction if we take it to mean she was the first woman. But in fact she is the 'sun', the Mother of Creation in ancient mythology. 'Eve' is from 'I-V" which means "eye of life" according to my linguistic research. The eye of life was the sun. 'i-v-el' is 'eye of living god' where 'el is an old term for god. So 'Eve' was 'Evel' to the ancients and only in modern times has the term 'evil' come into being as something opposing God.
The image shown is of the 'Eye God' of Ancient Egypt. So Eve may have come about as a result of the Egyptian religious mythology. In any case it was definitely the 'Eve" of the Old Testament.
To the Assyrians, Persians, Egyptians and Greeks the Mother god was the sun and nothing but the sun could ever be called the 'mother of all living'. Images from the Ice Age show her giving birth to animals and human babies alike. The archaeology of ancient graves show them as being constructed in the image of the uterus and birth canal because people were expected to be born again through her womb.
There is more about this on my website
In modern faiths anything related to worship of the gods of old was called 'evil' and this was obviously a spin off from the 'eye god'.

Another lens perhaps.
It would be great to continue this discussion here but it is rather almost a never ending feat, as are the arguments for and against what is within the bible.
My intention was simply to point out that the bible is a corrupt document with a lot of mythology from many places filling its pages. Next time something else will be discussed to stir your mind and start a new way of thinking of any so-called holy book.
If you want to know more about my background this site will fill you in. This site on reincarnation explains the facts about why knowldege is hidden on this subject

- These little lies in genesis have hurt many it hurts our science and it goes against women so I do not trust Genesis why would he lie ?? the only reason to do so was to control women !!! thank goodness Eve did not listen to him ! Many used to worship the sun because without the sun we would not exist ! Keep up your good work !
