Chawla
Chawla came to Out to Pasture on Aug. 22, 1997.

Chawla was born with no front legs due to inbreeding of mother and son. Her caretaker agreed to let her nurse with the litter as long as we agreed to take her at eight weeks of age - that was when she came to us.
Pony Meister
Pony Meister came to Out to Pasture on Sept. 11, 1999

He was not gelded so he was therefore very macho. He bit, kicked, chased people and escaped from every enclosure that he was placed in thus causing much havoc. After four trainers and throwing a child off his back he was sent to auction. That is when we intervened knowing that he would never be placed.
Myshepzula & Lilly
Myshepzula came to Out to Pasture on Feb. 3, 2002 - Lilly on Dec. 01, 2002.

Myshepzula's mother died during labor and she came to us shortly after her birth. She was dehydrated, cold, weak and was given little chance of survival. She spent her first six weeks of life being bottle fed, wearing a diaper and sleeping in a dog bed.
Lilly was a victim of a divorce. Her owner had bottle fed and loved her very much but when she moved from the farm to an apartment she had nowhere to keep her. She is a great companion for Myshepzula.

Oreon
Oreon came to Out to Pasture on October 17, 2002.

Oreon had a life of pain and mistrust and for the first time in his life he found love from a young woman. But due to leg problems he couldn't be worked and with upcoming college his board and medical expenses would have been too much for her - that is when he came to us.
Takeenah
Takeenah came to Out to Pasture on Sept. 17, 2004.
We call her AnnieAnnie was taken in by a woman who rescued dogs but because she was born with scoliosis - which paralyzed her from the waist down thus causing her to be incontinent - the medical bills were enormous. Since she was located in Arizona we had her flown to us.
Mosul & Kalieb
Mosul came to Out to Pasture on January 14, 2005 - Kalieb on July 24, 2006.

Mosul was found wandering the streets during a snow storm. His rescuer at first thought he was a rat because of his size and lack of hair. He has already had surgery for his nose where a canine tooth had grown the wrong way, a bone cyst removed, surgery for retained testicles and reconstructing his penis that has no sheath. He will have to have an eye removed, more surgery on his penis and skin biopsies to determine his lack of hair and skin issues.
Kalieb lived with a family for sixteen years but due to some financial hardships they were evicted and had to relocate to a place that didn't allow dogs. Due to Kalieb's age and eye problems he couldn't be placed so he came to us.

Hochrucken
Hochrucken came to Out to Pasture on Aug. 9, 2006.

Hochrucken was born with cerebral hypoplasis which compromises his equilibrium. His case is severe and could not be placed - that's when he came to us.
Ilean
Ilean came to Out to Pasture almost 20 years ago.
Ilean had been badly abused and had no feathers on her body due to liver problems and stress. She got her name because anytime you got near her she leaned as far away from you as she could. The vet figures her age to be around 60 bird years old. Layrah
Layrah came to Out to Pasture on July 25, 2007.
Layrah was dropped off on our doorstep by a woman who didn't want to put her down. She was born with Spina Bifada and will never have control of her bowel or bladder and will require a life time of care. Alienn
Alienn came to Out to Pasture on May 30, 2009.
Alienn was born into a feral litter - when the kittens were taken to a vet it was discovered that he had Hydrocephalus (water on the brain). Although there is a slim chance of a long life we were contacted to see what we could do for him. Out to Pasture Farm and Rescue Inc.

- Carrie and all the people that help these wonderful special animals are amazing. She took a dog by the name of Lola from my rescue in CO. Lola was hit by a car and her pet mom never took her to the vet. She became paralyzed by the accident and therefore had accidents because she didn't know when she needed to go outside to potty. I took her in my rescue and found a home for her. A few months later the family returned her. I was so grateful when OUT TO PASTURE offered to take her in as a permanent resident. Carrie sent pictures and updates on Lola and she is doing well. She has made herself right at home. This woman is simply amazing. I will always be grateful to Carrie and the people at the ranch who care for these special and sweet babies. I am so glad to know that there are others who care so much. Keep up the great work!!

- Carrie has to be the most amazing individual I have ever encountered. Anyone who can have this much care and compassion in their heart, is a special person. If everyone had a ounce of the heart that Carrie has, there would be no need for shelters. How she single handedly takes such care of the animals in her charge, is a mind boggling question, but yet she does... simply amaizing! As a animal care provider, I wish with all my heart, that everyone had the drive to be a animal owner like her!
