Kingdom 9-1-1, This Is Clara... How May I Direct Your Call?

Thank-you for visiting Kingdom 9-1-1 at Squidoo! Clara and I are formerly homeless, so we know exactly how difficult it can be to find the help you need to overcome homelessness. We are here to provide you with a directory to the resources you need when you are faced with the dark reality of living life on the streets.

If you are a provider of services to the homeless, please contact me and I will be happy to include your services in our virtual directory.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to be part of the solution to the issue of homelessness in our nation. It's an overwhelming task, but together, we CAN make a difference. Our goal is to help change the world for good, and we are delighted to work with others who also believe we can put an end to homelessness in the United States Of America.

Once we get our own country stabilized, we'll be better equipped to help meet the needs of the rest of the world! I believe we can harness the power of Squidoo to address the need for effective communication, and I'm ready to help tackle the challenge. If you agree, won't you please join me? Just follow the link to Be My Guest as one of the newest members of the Squidoo family!

That's the assignment, so for now, let's get started with a list of some of the resources that are available in Phoenix, Arizona.

Communication Is Critical To Successfully Meeting The Needs Of The Homeless

Homeless Shelters In Phoenix

This page includes the information for some of the resources that are available in Phoenix. It's not an exhaustive directory, but my hope is to at least give you a place to begin your search for assistance. I can't vouch for everyone personally, so you will need to speak to each facility about their specific guidelines for the services they provide.

I will continually be updating this list as I become more acquainted with the shelters in my community. I was terrified by my own experience with homelessness, so my hope is to be the contact point that was missing during that critical time in my own life. My goal is to help bridge the gap so you won't feel so alone in your search for the help you need.

There IS hope for your future, and it will be my great pleasure to shine some light on the dark path of recovering from homelessness.

Why Should We Help The Homeless?

It could happen to YOU, and you really don't want to face it alone.

A Backpack Is Standard Gear For The Homeless

Jansport Big Student Backpack (Black)

Amazon Price: $29.00 (as of 06/02/2012)Buy Now

A backpack of some sort is a most basic need for someone who is homeless.
Please consider donating your unused backpacks to your local homeless shelters. They will be happy to be able to say "YES" when they receive requests for something to carry the things that are essential for surviving on the streets.

Most shelters in your community will be happy to accept your gently used shoes, clothing, bedding and backpacks, It may seem like a small thing, but your contribution will be of great value, and greatly appreciated by the person who needs them.
