Text The Romance Back

I sent my wife a text that said this..."You looked very pretty this morning and I cannot wait to see you tonight".

I can honestly say, it was a good night!

Simple, huh?

1. The "Confident Text" . . . This is a great one to send right after you meet someone and get her number or the night after a great date.

"I had a great time...can't wait to see you again =-)"

Why does this work? Because it's confident (without over confidence)and assumes she's attracted to you and is thinking about you. Works wonders.

2. The "Favorite Part" . . . This is a great one for after a date. It shows some vulnerability and sets up the next time you see her.

"That was fun. My favorite part was when you put your hand on my back outside the movie."

Obviously, you need to alter this to fit your situation, but you get the idea.

3. The Tease . . .

Super simple and a great way to get her engaged . . .

You: "If you were here right now . . . =-)"

No need to say anything else, her imagination will fill in the void.

4. The "Getting To Know You" . . .

Again, really easy. Send her a "Deep and profound" question that she can hopefully answer in just a few sentences.

Don't get too "personal" here. Just play with her (like a cat with a piece of string.)

"If you could be anywhere right now where would you be?"

"If you found out if a guy had done hard core prison time how would you feel about him?" (OK, that's kind of a tease.)

Keep it light and fun.

5. The "Anticipator" . . .

Texting is a great way to build up the heat before a date and have her chomping at the bit to see you. These are just examples...let your mind run wild.

1. The "Nothing" Text. - Honestly, guys are more guilty of this than women are. Basically, a "nothing" text is any text that would be (or could be) sent by a 19 year old Frat boy. Classic nothing texts are "Yo." "What's up?" "Hey" and anything else monosyllabic. A good flirty text goes somewhere. It's part of a conversation and part of a story.

2. The "Story of my life." - When I coach guys I actually tell them to use MORE words in their texts than they're expecting, but when you're just flirting (and when you're dealing with guys) you need to pull things back a bit. Keep your texts to a sentence or two at a time. Be mysterious. If you tell him everything there's no reason he'll want to see you again soon.

3. Naked Pictures. Need I say More...Off Limits...DON'T DO IT EVER!!!

4. The "Needy" Text.

"Where are you? Why didn't you call me? What are you doing right now? Are you with another girl? Do you like her better than me?"

I shouldn't really have to explain.

Here's the test: any time you write a text like that take a deep breathe and ask your best guy friend "Would this freak you out?" If he says "yes," you need to delete the text.

Guys often get a bad rap as unromantic sloths who would rather drink beer and watch football than give a woman the attention she deserves but research suggests that this isn't the case.

Dr Terri Orbuch, a professor and relationship therapist, recently wrote in the Huffington Post that men are actually MORE romantic (sometimes MUCH more romantic) than women.

Surprised? I'm not. Get them talking when they think no one else can hear and most guys will admit to being romantic at heart, but a lot of guys end up being misunderstood because we don't always know the most appropriate times or ways to express our romantic side and don't always have the communication skills to let a woman know what we're really driving at (and it's more than just a roll in the hay.)

Added to that, women have increasingly more on their plate these days trying to get the right work-family life balance, it's not really surprising that romance isn't always top of their list.

In my opinion, romance is a vital part of a healthy relationship. We need to renew our connection with our partner, and what better way than with intimacy?

But how do you relight the passion you once felt for one another when there is so much going on in your lives? How do you find the time?

The most powerful and effective way I have found is with texting. Cellphones can create immediate, intimate connections with your partner. As long as you say the right thing, of course!
