What a wonderful idea! I hope a lot of people with kids read about this and follow through by making some of these cookies with their kids.
  • Carrie27 Apr 4, 2012 @ 9:33 pm | delete
What a neat way to explain Easter and what it means to kids and adults alike. These cookies look really nice and fun to make.I will have to try making them sometime.I posted a comment before and not sure why it did not post. Forgive me though if I double posted.
  • Carrie27 Apr 4, 2012 @ 9:30 pm | delete
These cookies look really neat and nice to make.I agree that this is a good way to share this with your kids about Easter and what it means. I will have to try this and see how they turn out.

I really enjoyed reading this lens, Susan! Haven't made Resurrection Cookies, but it sounds like they'd be fun to make; will try it. Also plan on reading more of your lenses. Have a blessed evening, Rita
  • lclchors Mar 29, 2012 @ 8:40 pm | delete
no but I will make them with my granddaughter
  • joannalynn Mar 29, 2012 @ 1:46 pm | delete
This is a wonderful way to teach children about the resurrection and Easter. I really like the tape at the end :). I only have one son left at home, who loves meringue cookies, so we might just make them anyway! We all still get together to dye Easter eggs. Some traditions never die.
  • Dhardt Mar 17, 2012 @ 4:14 pm | delete
Do you leave the oven on all night?
  • Susan52 Mar 17, 2012 @ 4:43 pm | delete
Dhardt, turn the oven off after you put the cookie sheet in the oven. The residual heat "cooks" the cookies overnight. Let me know if you try it and how the exercise turns out!
  • westinscott Mar 16, 2012 @ 9:39 am | delete
Great idea! You might want to review your ingredient list. I think you meant "salt"
  • Susan52 Mar 16, 2012 @ 10:09 am | delete
Fixed! Thank you for noticing that and letting me know. Glad you like the cookie idea!
  • GardenCherub Mar 15, 2012 @ 9:57 pm | delete
My kids are all grown, & grandkids nearly so. Easter always meant Sunrise Service, then breakfast at church, then regular service, then back home for Easter lunch, goodies & egg-hunting. Never heard of these Resurrection cookies, what a great idea. Thanks for a wonderful lens, Susan!
  • mamabush Mar 14, 2012 @ 10:53 am | delete

  • Words-of-Encouragement Mar 6, 2012 @ 11:38 am | delete
What a wonderful lens! I teach Sunday School, so this would be a perfect object lesson! I love the Easter stickers too! I went to the Dollar Store and purchased chocolate crosses to give out on Easter Sunday.

We love being together with family at Easter and, of course, we share lots of great food.

Your lens is being featured on Easter Time Headquarters and would appreciate a lensroll. Thanks!

Another incredibly written and informative lens! I had never even heard of Resurrection cookies before. I won't make them because I won't see my grandchildren on Easter morning, but I will definitely share this with my oldest son and his wife. They have 3 beautiful children (8, 7 and 3), are dedicated Christians, and I think they will LOVE this! Thanks for the lens, Susan. 5* and I tweeted it.

We've wanted to do this every year, but it also seems to pass by. We'll have to try extra hard this year to get supplies and all. Beautifully displayed lens! :D

Easter is a much more commercial holiday than it used to be (like every other holiday), but at least it isn't as bad as Christmas. I lensrolled this to my Easter greeting cards lens, speaking of commercialization!
  • Treasures-By-Brenda Mar 4, 2009 @ 8:57 am | delete
Great idea for teaching, Susan. You've left me with a dilemna...to put your lens in the food or the religion section of my new Easter Time group...

Thanks for sharing your passion with us...Jesus resurrection is a never ending story, and I'm happy to read how your family celebrates his victory! 5 stars, Connie : )

What a great way to teach the kids. I have found that the kids will learn so much more and better if they can actually DO soemthing to help them understand. and they certainly need to understand this! Great lens! Remember...kids can only learn what they are taught - what and by whom is all up to yoU!
  • utradesports Feb 19, 2008 @ 3:31 pm | delete
Great Lens - 5/5. Lots of excellent ideas here. I will try baking the cookies. I love pecans
  • Sandy Feb 18, 2008 @ 10:01 pm | delete
Susan, This is a neat site! I love the way you include your real life in whatever you do...it's "cool". You have lots of great looking books that I've never heard of. Maybe we need something new this year! :)

My kids love the Ressurection Eggs. We do them every year and every year the little ones always try to remember what is in each egg.

    God Bless You
    Sandy
