Working two jobs is quickly becoming the norm instead of the exception. Many people even work three jobs. More than 17% of Americans presently work more than one job and that number is increasing yearly. With the spiraling costs of fuel and food, cost of health care, current economic downturn and status of retirement accounts; it's getting harder and harder to make ends meet on one income and erase fear of what the future may hold.

* Perhaps you have already lost your job or are fearful that you might be next get the cut.

Starting part-time will give you the opportunity to see what your opportunities are and what you have a passion for.

I have often heard pre-retirees being encouraged to "practice" their retirement. Take the time to see if you really want to fish every day, spend as much time on the golf course as they think they will, do knitting or quilting everyday or anything that you have said you were going to do when you retire.

Taking a second job and especially taking a "work from home" job will give you the opportunity to see what you really want to spend your time doing each day as a full-time home business entrepreneur. Read through all the articles on this lens and give some serious thought to what you think is your ideal home business choice. Learn all you can, try your choice out and see if you can start generating a second revenue source.

AND THEN you can perhaps get the courage to quit your current job and work your home business full time for a full-time revenue source. And if you would be laid off, you would have a head start on your own home business.

The work at home phenomenon has a number of benefits for those people who want to have a full or part-time home business and control more of their own financial destiny.
