Baby boomers Retirement: Not An Option For Many
Baby Boomers and Social Security
Add to that the increase cost of fuel and the nest-egg put aside is dwindling.
The travel and comfort which once seemed achievable, now is not so certain.
What are the options for us Baby-boomers who want to retire comfortably? Baby Boomers and social security payments may not be enough. This generation is one of the most affluent in history and many have established quite a good lifestyle. Of course, once retired they want this lifestyle to continue or be even better.
They want to travel, cruise the Mediterranean, Alaska, or visit the Andes.Enjoy a European River Cruise or play with the rich and famous in Monaco.
They also want to give back to the community and donate to their favorite charities or maybe even start their own charitable foundation.
They want to help their families and have enough to take care of any unexpected events with those they care about.
What are the options?
*You might have to consider working much longer than originally planned. There are many people over the age of 65 who still need to work to survive.
Just when they've reached the time in their lives to enjoy the fruits of their labor, they find there isn't enough to live on comfortably.
*Baby-boomers can take advantage of the internet, it's not too late.
They can learn internet marketing, attraction marketing and take the business with them on their laptop while on that cruise ship or in the cafe in Tuscany and make a bit or a lot of cash to supplement retirement.
Yes, Baby boomers are smart enough and have enough good brain cells remaining to start a new lifestyle business and change their retirement future.
A comfortable retirement for baby boomers doesn't have to be a dream.
10 Tips for Independent Baby Boomers Planning Retirement
Independent Baby Boomers Face the Truth About Retirement
Baby boomers like myself, have been dreaming of an early retirement and an easy retirement for years.
We've invested in the markets- which are down, in houses-the market is down, planned on travel-the costs are high and now we have to face the truth.
The truth is that retirement for independent baby boomers is going to be more difficult than we were counting on.
We baby boomers don't want to even consider the fact that we're getting older. If we do that we also have to face the fact that as we get older our health issues take center stage. Undeniably, the cost of health care is also escalating and will most assuredly eat into our already diminishing retirement funds.
Retirement for us will require some re-thinking.
Here are 10 tips for us independent baby boomers who are planning retirement.
1. If possible, make larger contribution to your retirement plans or at the very least, make additional contributions.
2. Invest more. Consider buying when the markets are low as they are now. Same applies for real estate, but you should get advice and do your due diligence.
3. Plan on working after retirement. Get a post-retirement job. Learn new skills, get more training.Personally I love internet network marketing.
4.Community Service. Now this isn't income producing but it certainly adds value not just to the community but to yourself as well. You can't put a price on this.
5.Enjoy a full life. Be in the present moment and start this before retirement so you can carry it through to retirement.
Retirement poses significant changes and enjoying these changes can be difficult especially if you identify yourself with your work.
Learn to separate yourself (who you are) from your work(what you do). Live in the moment and enjoy every experience to it's fullest. This will make the transition and experience in retirement so much better.
6. Take better care of yourself, both physically and mentally. Don't put your head in the sand and pretend that neither will change. I know I've done that on more than one occasion and it always comes back to bite you.
Remember, prevention is always better than cure! I worked in a hospital my entire working life and I can tell you it's not where I want to spend my retirement! Take better care of yourself.
7.Back to the money bit...Start saving more. If you don't have a savings plan, better get started right now. If you already have one, start saving more and then you can add to your investment strategies.
8. Pay off your debts before retiring
9. Prepare and plan for your retirement. Talk to your family, discuss things, finances as well as what you'll do to occupy your time when you retire.
10. Seek professional advice. This can be a professional financial planner, not simply an accountant for your financial needs.
Also consider counseling for you and your family if you feel that retirement is or will effect you emotionally and be difficult for you.
Independent Baby Boomers Planning Retirement:
remember this saying:"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."
Home Business Opportunities for Baby Boomers
Baby Boomers Are Looking For Home Business Opportunities
As we all know by now, Baby boomers are at a point in life where they have to reevaluate their plans for retirement. Most of us thought we pretty much had it all figured out. We'd have all the time and money we needed to survive for all our remaining years and enjoy ourselves along the way.Well, the current economic climate and perhaps poor planning have made many of us really consider some sort of work "after work" so-to-speak.
I used to say "too much month left at the end of the money". Well, now its "too many years left after the money".
I don't know about the rest of you, but I want a fun lifestyle when I'm retired. I don't want to be idle, not travel, or do fun things. So, in order to do this, finding work to do from home at my convenience is what has appealed to me the most.
If you as a baby boomer, looking for some sort of home business opportunity, have never considered this option before, then there are few things you need to think about.
It's important to think about what you want and then figure out how you're going to get it.
Have you ever thought about working from home before? It has it's challenges but certainly has heaps of rewards.
There are any number of home business opportunities for baby boomers. You just have to look around. Some can involve mostly the internet and others more "hands on".
Here are some examples of these home business opportunities for baby boomers to consider:
- distribution
-import/export
-internet affiliate programs
-MLM
-network marketing (my personal favorite and I use the internet to make it all happen)
-online auctions
-online dollar stores
-paid surveys
-work at home data entry jobs
...and many others
Whatever it is you decide to do, be sure that you're willing to put the time and energy necessary into it. If you expect to be a success without doing the work, you better look elsewhere.
There are no shortcuts but there certainly is a lot of help and support if you want it.

Are You a Baby Boomer Looking for A Business Opportunity That Provides a Residual Income Formula?
Business Opportunities for Baby Boomers Can Indeed Provide A Residual Income Formula
If You're a Baby Boomer, Looking for a Business Opportunity that Can Provide a Residual Income Formula, you aren't alone.First, what is the definition of a residual income formula or model?
Residual income means doing something once, and do it right and then continue to get paid for these efforts.
Elton John, the extremely talented musician and singer has written hundreds of songs.
He writes them once and continues to earn royalties every time someone uses or sings his songs. This is one residual income formula.
The Residual Income Formula then is to become part of a business opportunity that in essence allows you to do something once, and continue to earn a residual income from this effort.
So what are some of these business opportunities for baby boomers?
Well, you could write a song or a book, publish it and earn royalties.
You could write an ebook once, use affilites to market it for you and continue to earn a residual income from those efforts.
Another possibility is network marketing. You market products or services to people who want them, they in turn continue to buy through no more efforts on your part and you continue to earn residual income.
You could inspire others to do as you are and when they become involved in the business with you, once again, you earn residual income through leverage after doing something just once.
This is the ,residual income formula.
Oh, you could also invest in the stock market or real estate and assuming all is well in the market, you earn residual and passive income from these investments.
Again, A residual income formula.
Business Opportunities for Baby Boomers are endless.
Choosing one that incorporates a residual income formula is important if you want to work smarter not harder.
The internet and online business opportunities is one very significant way to incorporate network marketing and residual income into your successful financial future.

Retirement Is Scaring Baby Boomers
Preparation For Retirement Requires More Thought and Action
They've taken steps to ensure their retirement is one of comfort and style. But the world situation has changed and effected the best laid plans of many of this generation.
Where one thoughts of retirement were looked upon as a time to look forward to, now becomes more of a scary unknown.
World oil prices have sky-rocketed and this cost is passed down to the consumers in just about everything we buy and is eating into savings.
Add to this the fall in the stock market, the rise in interest rates that have either occurred already or are on the horizon and you've got a lot of unrest.
Money that was put away in savings now is spent just on living.
The amount previously thought to be required to have in savings to fund a comfortable retirement for baby boomers, now seems hardly enough.
It used to be that if in retirement you wanted to have $40,000.00 per year to live on(hardly seems like a life in luxury) you would need to have $1M in savings like a 401K or other type of retirement plan.
That number has now increased to about $2M.
How many people do you know who have this in a savings plan?
What can be done?
Well, you can always work beyond the expected 65 years of age.
There are baby boomer retraining programsfor those who retired but have now found it necessary to re-enter the work force to make ends meet.
You can give up the lifestyle you were planning for and live a simpler, more conservative retirement.
You can give up on helping your kids deal with buying a house or helping with the grandkids university education. Don't worry...I'm sure they can get a scholarship.
Or, you can consider creating income streams that don't require you going into the office every day.
Something you can do from home, take with you as you travel or experience adventures in retirement.
Add some monthly income to supplement your retirement monthly income.Baby boomers and social security not necessarily enough for a comfortable lifestyle.
There are many things you can consider doing and is worth doing some investigations to see what appeals to you.
Here's an article I wrote which outlines some online job possibilities that many baby boomers may want to consider in retirement.Work At Home Business Online.
There are any number of online business models available and one of the best in my view is network marketing using attraction network marketing strategies.
Network Marketing: Baby Boomers Want to Know: Is Network Marketing a Scam?
I Want to Join A Netowrk Marketing Business But I Need to Know!
I think the question is fair enough and any intelligent baby boomer would be asking it. so, let's get it straightened out.
What Are Pyramid Schemes?
Network marketing is NOT a pyramid scheme. So what's a pyramid scheme I hear you ask?
A pyramid scheme is a program where people invest their money while being promised that others will do the same and when those people put their money into the scheme, much of it will flow back to you and therefore you'll get rich.
This is not unlike the "chain letter". I've gotten so many of them I've lost track. They say, you put in so much money, then have ten or twenty others to do the same, blah, blah, blah, and pretty soon you'll be getting envelopes full of cash in your mailbox every week!
It used to be that these schemes only dealt with money but today they can even have a product to move but it's really there only to cover up the real scheme. What a bunch of hoohey!
Anyway, that gives you an idea as to what a pyramid scheme is, and by the way, they are obviously illegal and if you participate in one you can be taken to court over it and even jailed.
Stay away from pyramid schemes.
Network Marketing is A Legitimate Business Model
It is a business model that provides high quality products to people who want them at a reasonable price. Essentially the middle man is removed.
The network marketing company relies on word of mouth advertising(you) and delivers the product to you avoiding the retail outlets.
Instead, they use that advertising money to pay it's members and also very importantly, puts it into research and development so they can always produce quality and beneficial products to their consumers.
Can people make a good living and even become exceptionally wealthy in network marketing?
Absolutely or I wouldn't be in it. What you need to be aware of is that success is based on the individual and their own efforts in creating an organization that markets real and beneficial products and services to their customers and associates.
Network Marketing Is Not A "Get Rich Quick" Program
Success comes at a price and that's hard work but the pay off can be far greater than you can imagine. This is achieved by helping others be successful.
Your success is a reflection of how much you've helped others be successful!
Network Marketing is not about taking advantage of others.
You don't even have to tell your family and friends about it if you don't want to, although sharing a great business with those you care about is a good place to start, you'll find many people today using the strategies and techniques of internet marketing to build their business around the world.
Network Marketing Is About Leverage
J. Paul Getty once one of the world's wealthiest men said "I would rather make 1 percent on the efforts of 100 people than 100 percent on my own efforts."
This is what leverage means.
It means if your business is leveraged and you're ill, or on holiday...your business continues to provide an income.
If you have no leverage, then if you're sick, can't work etc...you don't get paid.
Baby Boomers aren't afraid of a bit of work. They know that rewards come with effort.
The people who complain about network marketing are those who expect little or no effort to make them rich over night. When they discover that they actually have to do something, they complain about it.
Baby Boomers need to know that Network marketing is an exceptional business model.
You tap into systems that are in place with the company you choose, with the people that bring you into the business and in this way, working several hours a week, you can begin building the foundation of a very successful network marketing business and creating a residual income.
Unlike franchises and other investments where the start up costs can be in the tens of thousands, network marketing requires a relatively small outlay of capital.
This type of home business doesn't have a lot of overheads and just about any body can do it. Plus there are tax advantages to having your own home based business.
Network Marketing Benefits
*flexible hours
*portable
*will-able
*make new friends
*help others succeed
*travel
*pay off debts
*lifestyle
*give back to the community
...and so much more. It's all up to you.

The Renegade Network Marketer System: The Renegade Review
http://Renegadeuniversity.com The Renegade Network Marketer & Renegade System. Why we chose Ann Sieg's Renegade, by Mike Klingler... Here is a straight-forward review of Ann Sieg's, The Renegade Network Marketer. I bought the Renegade Network Marketer in August, introduced the book and Ann Sieg to my group a week later, and then took a couple weeks to test out the marketing strategies Sieg discussed. We started plugging into The Renegade System and was immediately surprised by how quickly our team got up and running with Internet Marketing. Best Internet Marketing Training... I'd been training and coaching thousands of network marketers in different MLM companies through webinars and live conference calls for years. Predominently, my group was Mannatech associates and most of them non-techie baby-boomers who I really wanted to get up and running with online marketing. Affiliate marketing was totally new for them. The idea of generating their own leads was new. Until then, we did cold-calling, buying leads from lead companies, following scripts by Dani Johnson, attending events with Jeffery Combs, Ellie Drake and others. Some had joined Ellie Drake's Brave Heart Community, which some of you may know because they introduced (with Mike Filsaime) the 'Death of Netwwork Marketing' report and NetWeb 2.0 marketing. I was working more personally with about 70 or so people when we introduced Ann Sieg's Renegade. I had been learning internet marketing prior to The Renegade Network Marketer and System, from MLM Goldmine students, as well as Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring, MLM Traffic Formula. Many of you may know Mike Dillard from his new book, Building on a Budget... I know what it's like for network marketers to struggle with the old model of business building, so I was committed to finding a way to teach Internet attraction marketing to my coaching clients. But MLM Goldmine was too expensive for my group. Magnetic Sponsoring didn't resonate with them (I had introduced it as a test with different results than The Renegade book and System). MLM Traffic Formula was also cost prohibitive for them without them first 'getting it.' My test with The Renegade Network Marketer and Renegade System was different... and when I saw people duplicating and attracting their own leads and prospects.. just a couple weeks into our 'test' I knew we'd never do anything the same way in the business again. The groups started generating their own prospects and leads. We said good-bye to the leads companies forever. I was surprised to hear that within the first few weeks our network marketing group was getting phone calls from their prospects who initiated the call. The Renegade Network Marketer has allowed me and my team to go from wasting tons of money on leads and advertising, to now attracting our prospects to us. The Renegade is the answer for a lot of frustrated networkers who are burning the candle at both ends. I had tried other books and e-books, such as Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring. I'd also purchased his MLM Traffic Formula course. They're great, but for the newbie they didn't address the major issue like Ann's Renegade book had done. The Renegade book and her Renegade System breaks it all down in the easy to understand ideas, and then backs it up with illustrations that help people get it right away. Internet attraction marketing is not just the future for MLM, it's the answer right now. We're seeing it change the network marketing industry right before our eyes. I realize that Ann Sieg's contoversial book, The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing' has gotten some old school MLM high-income earners ticked off... and for good reason. Ann Sieg is empowering people to escape the pitfalls of their old methods of prospecting and therefor, they don't need the old school trainings any longer. Of course some people who make a good living selling training will be upset by that. Bottom line... I highly encourage every network marketer and small business owner to pick up a copy of Ann Sieg's book, The Renegade Network Marketer, and to start building their business through attraction marketing as she teaches it. I also encourage you to plug into her free system you get with her book, The Renegade System... to use to plug into attraction marketing even faster. In addition, we have a support training site called Marketing Merge (with Renegade University and Renegade Professional) that helps you get started, much like we did with the first group we trained with the Renegade. Here it is... http://RenegadeUniversity.com

Very informative. I'm a Gen X'er and we've been taught all along that we'll not be able to retire...Social Security and Medicare will not be able to survive the Baby Boomers retirement.
It's great to have a Plan B.
