The History of the Sarong Dress
A sarong or sarung ( in Malay; ) is a large tube or length of fabric, often wrapped around the waist and worn as a kilt by men and as a skirt by women throughout much of South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Arabian Peninsula, the Horn of Africa, and on many Pacific islands. The 1960s and 1970s marked the rise of feminism as we know it today, and as a result, women made huge advancements in the work force both in number of women working as well as the type of work being performed. Today there is hardly a profession or occupation where women are not employed.
