Red is such a classic retro 50's color, and it is bright, cheerful and energetic. I am not brave enough (yet) to paint an entire room red, but I love to add splashes of this racey color to my kitchen, laundry / sewing room and a little to my office. Red seems to really perk me up when I am feeling the blues!

Retro Movie Classics on DVD
Sometimes I get in a nostalgic mood and just want to kick back with my retro green enamelware popcorn bowl full of hot buttered popcorn, pour myself a root beer into one of my grandmother's old diner-style glasses, and sit on my tall country bed with my two fat cats and watch a good classic movie. Ahhh, a perfect way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon!

Almost everything in 1976 was red, white and blue including cars, hair, clothing, dogs, buildings...anything that could be painted, colored or dyed was red, white and blue! People went NUTS painting stars and stripes on every paintable surface. It would be really cool to see this kind of patriotism surface again in the U.S.A.!
