I realized when figuring out 15 Ways to Minimize Your Impact on the Garbage Island" that I needed to find a way to minimized the number of plastic bags we use weekly in making the girls lunches for school.
I went in search of reusable snack bags and reusable snack bag patterns. Inspired by the simplicity of making snack bags (and the price to purchase ones already made) one of my summer projects is going to be designing and making my own reusable snack bags and reusable sandwich bags.
Until I can design my own patterns, I've pulled together many of the available patterns for creating your own reusable snack bags, reusable sandwich bags and reusable sandwich wraps along with pre-made products on Amazon.

Reusable Bag Patterns
Designing Patterns for Reusable Bags
After searching the Internet to find reusable snack bags, reusable sandwich bags and reusable sandwich wraps, I began to realize that many of these patterns were pretty simple and with my background skills as a seamstress and compulsive crafter it would be possible to design my own.I was also inspired by the price to purchase these reusable products pre-made, and my collection of cotton fabrics
I am hopeful that one of my summer projects is going to be designing and making my own reusable snack bags and reusable sandwich bags and possibly making the patterns available through Etsy.
