Revenge of the Bridesmaids ABC - Details About ABC Family's Revenge Of The Bridesmaids
Revenge of the Bridesmaids ABC - ABC Family has featured its latest TV series "Pretty Little Liars", and there were a lot of positive first impressions from the viewers of the show. The original movie "Revenge Of The Bridesmaids" premieres on Sunday, July 18 at 8 PM ET on ABC Family. If you were to watch "Revenge Of The Bridesmaids" tonight, the story is just similar from the TV series "Pretty Little Liars", also broadcasted on ABC Family.
In the movie, Raven-Symoné stars as Abigail Scanlon and JoAnna Garcia as Parker Wald, best friends since childhood returning to their small, Southern home town from New York City, for a visit. After running into old friends they learn that their close friend, Rachel (Chryssie Whitehead), has lost the love of her life, Tony (Lyle Brocato), to their ex-friend Caitlin (Virginia Williams) - a conniving gold-digger. Intent upon preventing the loveless marriage, Parker and Abigail go "undercover" as Caitlin's bridesmaids to sabotage the wedding. Along the way, Caitlyn's tightly-wound mother, Olivia (Beth Broderick), works hard to keep Abigail and Parker at bay, and Parker falls for the town cop and groomsman Henry (David Rogers). The bridesmaids put their best-laid plans in motion only to see them go outrageously awry!
And you're probably wondering why Tony would decide to marry Caitlyn? Without giving away too much of the movie, let's just say that Caitlyn and her over-bearing mother Olivia had their own scheme all along. The movie becomes a battle: team bridesmaid verses team bride.
"Revenge of the Bridesmaids" is directed by Jim Hayman Ugly Betty, Drop Dead Diva, written by David Kendall & Bob Young and Stephanie Phillips & Mark Amato and produced by Frank von Zerneck and Bob Sertner Beauty & the Briefcase, Sorority Wars.

There are some elements that keep to the standard, like one of the bridesmaids finds love amidst the whole wedding debacle and of course there is a nice, tidy ending. However, the humor was down right snarky. No doubt that snarky tone was the best part of the movie. Constantly making fun of the pink and orange frou-frou monstrosity of a bridezilla wedding, witty passive-aggressive comments, and all-too-relatable catty "frenemy" relationships, all portray the snarky tone of the film. Maybe that sounds awful, but it was the constant wit that kept the movie from feeling too slap-stick or silly. The situation all stems from the immaturity of Caitlyn and her mother, and unfortunately it doesn't exactly bring out the best from Abigail and Parker, but their fierce loyalty to their best friend Rachel is sweet.
This is definitely not like the pathetic movie Bride Wars where you're just annoyed with both of the main characters. In Revenge of the Bridesmaids you will instantly be rooting for Abigail, Parker, and Rachel. They make the set up very clear (don't we all wish it were that easy in real life to figure out who are true friends?). While the storyline does grow more complex as the schemes get out of control, the resolution may take you a little by surprise%u2026 but not by too much.
