How to Run a Reverse Cellular Phone Search Online for FREE
This Lens author recommends using Cell-Phone-Reverse-Lookup.com to find owner information on any cellular number.
So here's how to run your own reverse-lookup on the web. The first method is FREE!!!
1. Use Google (and other search sites like Yahoo, MSN) to pull up any info it can find on the cellular number...
Just go to Google.com, type in the phone number into the search box (see examples below), and press search...
"111-222-3333"
"1112223333"
"222-3333"
"2223333"
And so on. Make sure you include the quotation marks around the phone number, as this will prevent any results that only have a part of the number, as opposed to the complete cellular number.
If you don't get any results with Google, then repeat the process on other sites like Yahoo and MSN. Each search engine will display different results, and they all vary in terms of actual reach across the web.
And if that doesn't work...
2. Use a Reputable Online Investigative/Lookup Service
As you've probably already discovered, cellular numbers, unlisted numbers, some business numbers and pager numbers are practically IMPOSSIBLE to find in any public directory, such as the WhitePages or AnyWho.com, etc.
You'll need to use a lookup service that will cost about $35 - $99 or so for anything that actually provides results (you get what you pay for).
These types of investigative services are everywhere - but only go with one that has a guarantee (refund policy) in case you can't find the owner of the cell phone (the mystery caller).
Some have a sample/partial search, so you can see if they have the number in their database or not before ordering the service.
Others have both a refund policy and a partial search, such as the service we recommend, Cell-Phone-Reverse-Lookup.
Rest assured that doing a reverse search is legal - and it can be done discreetly (the caller will never know that you looked them up).
Just enter the number into the search box, press "search", and see if it's available.

Reverse Cell Phone Lookup - What to Expect
Here's what you can expect if you order a reverse lookup service or join a membership
1. Mobile phone numbers change frequently. It may not be possible to obtain up-to-date information about your subjective number/user in particular. Old records (in some cases, only a few days old) may be all that's available.
2. Phone companies rarely disclose personal information to anyone without a warrant - or for reasons of national security. A name & address is usually all that's available for any given number - if that!
3. Expect to get something you can work with - not necessarily a "silver platter" type of result.
In my experience, the information that's available from paid services or database sites is "hit and miss", but you WILL be given the following information in all cases:
- The company who provides service for (carries) the number
- The exact zip code and lat/long location of the number
- The type of line (cell, wireless)
Records that may be included also, in my experience for about 50% of numbers searched:
- Owner name
- Address
- Other "household" members
These are some expectations that you can reasonably have about performing a reverse cell phone lookup from one of the leading online services, such as Reverse Phone Detective.
