The Setup: A single woman, mother of 3 young kids one day decides to join a dating service on the internet. As a mother, this woman has done every thing in her power to ensure her safety and the safety of her kids. She is leading a simple life, setup to revolve around her children, taking all the usual precautions single moms take nowadays, and these precautions of course extend to the way she deals with men she meets on the dating site.

As the weeks pass, she engages in an email correspondence with a particular man who has responded to her profile. The exchange of emails spreads over several weeks during which she is cautious and eager to discover everything about this stranger she has never met before and who appears to be oh so very charming. To her delight, she doesn't sense anything threatening or evil about this man, and he appears to be all that she is looking for in a potential life's partner. The Sting: A while later, they finally meet and she is charmed. Romance is in the air! Boyfriend moves in!

The Nasty Deed: Fast forward several months and one day, as she is preparing to put her younger child to bed, she notices a bruise on the child's thigh. The little girl swears she doesn't know where the bruise has come from, maybe at school, or in a playground where she fell, but mom being mom, she calls a friend who is a child psychologist. The friend agrees to come to her house and see for herself if she can get more our the little girl and a couple of weeks and several visits later, the ugly truth is uncovered.

What a simple background check would have revealed! The boyfriend is the one who inflicted the bruise on the little girl. At first Mom tries to convince herself that perhaps it was an accident.
