Nothing Feels As Good As GREAT HEALTH

There is so much ill health around us, and it causes us misery, a decline in health, and even premature death. Of course, as well as breaking the bank.

Just as this section says, Nothing Feels as Good As GREAT HEALTH. So, since doctors - medicines and treatments don't seem to be curing what ails us, what will?

I am going to present to you the story of a woman, her name is Terry Wahls. She was a former champion athlete, became a doctor and was diagnosed with M.S.in 2000.

She had access to the best modern medicine had to offer - but what happened?

She focused on dealing with how to keep her medical practice from disappearing, along with her entire life including the very basics of her abilities.

If you have ever been ill, or are worried about some of your dear love ones, please read this entire page and see if you find any solutions to your concerns.

Real Whole Food As Medicine: Brain Health, Parts 1-6

With Dr. Terry Wahls

Doctor Wahls was losing her career, her abilities, and everything that she held dear, and she was losing it quickly.

She also knew if she didn't do something pretty fast, she wouldn't be capable of doing anything at all, because M.S. was one of the neurological diseases that shrinks the brain as the disease progresses, and she wanted to stop that too.

Not everyone will do the research so if you wish just listen to what she learned, and apply it in your own life. Learn how all the colors of the rainbow of real whole foods turned her life around.

Actually, this 6 part video presentation is just like taking one of professor Wahls classes - so enjoy.

-- Dr. Terry Wahls tells the inspiring story of how she reversed her multiple sclerosis by switching to a Paleo-style diet focused on fresh raw foods, high in specific nutrients needed for proper function of myelin and mitochondria

In Summing up my Life Up to Now- I Ask Myself

Paleo type- Healthy Meal

Have I learned to eat a more wholesome diet, while avoiding processed foods filled with non-foods, chemicals and Franken foods?

Am I enjoying tasting real fresh produce, wonderful greens, beautifully delicious real fruits that explode with flavor when I bite into them?

Am I taking advantage of fresh raw nuts, and enjoying the many nutritious advantages of those as whole foods?

What have I done in the past year to improve my physical well being?

Am I moving more while breathing much deeper?

Quote From Terry Wahls

"Between the unexpected, unpleasant events in our lives and our response to those events is a space, and in that space we have a choice in deciding what our response will be. We can either give up or get up each day and do our best."

Please allow me to introduce Dr. Terry Wahls to you

Dr. Terry W

Please meet Terry Wahls. She used to be a champion athlete, then went on to become a doctor, and then was diagnosed with M.S. in 2000.

I am sure that many of you are familiar with M.S. I know how devastating it can be, although I haven't had to live with it.

I do have some friends that have it, and one of my dear friends died because of complications of M.S. and the medications she was given. It was a premature death that just shouldn't have happened.

Dr. Wahls speaks of the quick deterioration with M.S. She began to lose her abilities, quickly found herself in an electric wheel chair, and then in a tilt chair because she just couldn't sit in a chair such as we you and I are able to use.

She began to do research deep into the night and finally began to supplement her diet using the nutrition she learned about. It slowed the progress of the disease, but, did not halt it.

Then she decided she needed to get her nutrition from real foods, and in that way she would have all the companion nutrition that real food brings. That was excellent thinking, and it began to turn things around for her.

What Dr. Wahls Tells People who say they Can't Afford to Eat Healthy

Dr. Wahls on a bike in 2008

When people tell her that they cannot afford to eat healthy organic or grass fed meats she tells them they will pay for it in one way or another.

What does she mean?

She explains, you will either pay for your health and vitality now, or you will pay later. It is only a question of when you will pay, and how you will pay. It also means there is a difference in your physical condition if you pay it now or later.

She states that if you don't learn these important wellness lessons and then apply this information as well as good food into your lives --you will pay or already are paying in doctor visits, prescription drugs, and surgeries, missed time from work, early retirement and nursing home care. That doesn't sound like lots of fun, but it is a fact. Also, she shares the facts to back up her statements.

So, instead of stating that we can't afford to eat healthy, we should say: "I can't afford not to eat healthy."

Food Dehydrators

This is another great way to get your green and non-starchy vegetables.

And, it seems as if everybody loves the fruit and vegetable chips.

Dr. Terry Wahls tells us that Kale chips are not only delicious but highly nutritious too. She says that even her kids love them.

So, here are a few popular ones for you to choose from.

I say - go for it!

Absolutely! Recently had an experience where I thought I had Fibromyalgia - but because I analyze my diet - I discovered I was suffering from acidosis instead. I even wrote a lens about it.

JackieSonia says:

I was doing this fervently before the holidays. Somehow, undetected (by me), I fell off the wagon and have been doing poorly since. Right now I have been battling a cold since Christmas Eve. Still have it. Time to get back in the running.

Danielle Sutton (Salas) says:

I dropped off for a while, but since being married I have gained some of the weight back that I lost so am beginning to look closer at what I eat.

Susan52 says:

I'm answering a half-hearted "yes" because I don't do this nearly as much as I should.

No, I don't even think about it. It isn't necessary anyway

Excerpt from Dr. Wahls interview:

Through the intensive focused nutrition I went from being wheelchair dependent, walking very short distances with two canes, to being able to walk through out the hospital, biking 5 miles to work each day and again doing trail rides by horse. (2 years). I see excellent results in my patients with traumatic brain injury and in my primary care clinics.
I am planning a study which will test my interventions in others with MS - advanced Parkinson's and traumatic brain injury.

Minding My Mitochrondia

Every Reader Gave it a 5 Star Rating!!

Dr Terry Wahls, Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Iowa, is an inspiration.

She was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2000, and within three years had become wheelchair dependent in the secondary progressive phase of the disease. Her rapid descent into disability was a strong motivation to begin to delve into the scientific literature around MS. Terry began to assemble literature around the health of mitochondria. These little (about 5micrometres diameter) structures live inside our cells and convert food into energy.

The Mitochondria plays very important roles not only in energy production for cells, but in cell death and aging.

About the book:

Dr. Terry Wahls links micronutrient starvation to the epidemics of chronic disease that are overtaking modern society. She explains the key roles mitochondria play in maintaining a healthy brain and body. Americans are eating so poorly, something we all know to be true, that the majority of Americans are missing key building blocks that are needed for brain cells to be healthy. The result is an epidemic of depression, aggression, multiple sclerosis and early dementia. She then teaches you how to eat for healthy mitochondria, a healthy brain and a healthy body in language that is clear and concise, even for those without a science background. In this book, Dr. Wahls explains basic brain biology in simple terms. She tells us what vitamin, mineral and essential fat building blocks are needed by the mitochondria and other key structures in the brain. Then she explains what foods are good sources for those key nutrients. Over a hundred recipes are provided to help get you started on this new way of eating. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be used to fund research into the benefits of these interventions in others.

Please go to the site and read the reviews. This is changing lives!

I feel as if all of us will benefit from reading this - in her own words.

Enjoy.

People need to know why we are declining-and at such an epidemic rate.

Our bodies were designed by god to run on food, not medications. Real healthy food can help balance all the workings and processes of the body. This information will help get you started on learning about that balance.

I was doing good before the holidays. Have to start back since I've been battling a cold as of Christmas Eve which doesn't seem to go away - no matter how much meds I take. It is time to start eating healthy again.

Just got the link to this article in an email. I took the class during the summer and did great for a while. I gained back some of the weight I lost and now that's it getting to be winter I'm feeling it. So now I'm really starting to try again, this time around I am actually doing it because I want to, not because someone else wants me to, which I think will make a lot of difference. :) P.s. Carmel, didn't know if you had heard from my mom but she has now lost over 130 pounds. :)

This is very impressive. I watched my dear daughter in law defeat a horrid disease with changes to her diet, so I know there is indeed great value in this kind of research. I would imagine if truth be told, most of our illnesses could be cured with either positive thought or proper nutrition or both!!
