Subway is an international chain of restaurant selling submarine sandwiches, called subs and salads. The chain operates more than 35000 franchises all over the world n as many as 98 countries. It is headquartered at Milford, Connecticut and there are five centers that manage the international operations. The chain started its operations in 1966 and is privately held company owned by Doctor's Associates. In spite of the Subway's claims of health conscious eatables offered I its outlets, Subway is not certified by any of the medical organizations.
But the Subway restaurants have been ranked among the top 500 franchises by Entrepreneur magazine and have many such distinctions and awards. It is the most popular fast food restaurant in USA as surveyed by a social media. It has surpassed McDonald's which has more than 33000 outlets but it still leads in the revenue figures.

Review of subway Sandwiches - Subway Sandwich Review

Subway has attracted lot of attention both good and bad from many customers and professional review sites. The basis of the attention stems from Subway claiming to be healthier than other competing fast food chains and while I find this true to a degree, it is easy to be mislead. Subway does have healthy food but like any other fast food place you have to choose what you eat wisely. For example avoid their tea it has the most calories out of any of the fast food places. However they do have a bunch of healthy options which make it one of my favorite eateries.

I like the fact subway is making strides to become even more healthy for people to eat. Recently I discovered that Subway has started offering gluten free bread in some locations. It has also reduced the salt content in sandwiches and taken other measures like introduction of Low Fat Subs and has shown the commitment towards providing a healthy food items in their fast food line up. It is a refreshing change as high fat content and fast food culture has been pointed to be a major cause of many preventable diseases.

The other thing that sets subway apart from other fast food places is it is one of the few places where I can get a healthy breakfast. For example, I really like these Subway breakfast sandwiches, Black Forest Ham, Egg & Cheese and Steak, Egg & Cheese and Double Bacon. Although I rarely do get the double bacon for the obvious health reasons.

Review of Subway Sandwhiches

Overall I feel that my overall review of subway sandwiches is a positive one. Don't fall into the trap of thinking all their food is healthy and you should be all set. By avoiding excessive, sugar, dressings and cheese you are going to have a wider variety of healthy choices compared to most other fast food chains.
