Disco music hit the peak of popularity in the mid-70s and continued through the end of the decade. But sadly, this music trend quietly fizzled in the 80s, with some musicians even professing anti-disco sentiments. Disco, however, never died. It is very much alive and making a robust resurgence.

In 2009, millions of fans tuned-in to watch Disco Night on American Idol. The contestants performed numbers such as She Works Hard For The Money, I’m Every Woman, and Stayin’ Alive. Attendance at 70′s revival shows is hotter than ever. Concerts are attracting lifelong fans who want an evening of nostalgia, and new fans that are curious about their parents or grandparent’s dance music. Also, several popular songs released in 2013 had a disco vibe. Numbers such as “Treasure” by Bruno Mars, “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk, and “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke, all had that familiar dance beat, not to mention countless downloads.

I’m DebW07, the “Disco Queen” 70′s Contributor on Squidoo and I never stopped listening to disco music. I have several reasons why I love this music and I would love to hear from all the like-minded disco/70′s music lovers out there. I’m interested in learning about your favorite 70′s music and I’ve put together a list of several top disco songs here. I invite you to choose 1 or more of your favorites and write a review. If you would like to see examples of song reviews, look here and here.
