What to know about Eragon before you read it

Eragon, by Christopher Paolini, is the great adventure tale of a young boy, Eragon, who finds a dragon's egg. When it hatches, Eragon finds himself swept up in adventure as he discovers that he is a Dragon Rider, the last of them, and is to fight the emperor and bring peace back to his home.

I think that this book is one of the best out there. It is seems to be okay for children of all ages, not just teens. No bad language, no sex, not too bad amount of violence. It is one of those books that will actually be good for your kids, not be a bad influence to them.

The story of Christopher Paolini is what inspired me to actually read his book. At the age of 15 he decided to write a story to challenge himself to finish a book. When it was done, he parents thought that it was so wonderful that they self-published it and Christopher went around to schools presenting it. A friend of a top publisher read the book and was able to get Eragon published, and from there it went on to become 1# on the New York Times bestselling list.

This is a book that is great for not only kids up even adults who like a good story.

The movie is actually pretty good, if you do not read the book first. Because the book is so long they were unable to include everything in it, thus the movie seems horrible. But if you watch it first and then read the book, you will reap the rewards of getting even more from the story.
