A Rhyme a Day - Take Time to Play
Welcome to Rhyme Time a place not to wine and dine, but to flip out a rhyme - maybe you could add a sprig of thyme then you'd have a heck of a time to wine and dine with the thyme while you rhyme. Whew!
But I digress while looking for an egress. If you've stumbled upon this lens welcome and in a moment of seriousness if I may, no more rhyme for the rest of the day, oops, I guess there's no way to go through a day without at least one rhyme to say.
Have fun I say, let your imaginations run and play and at the end of the day if you haven't rhymed at least once I say - "shame on you, and your tongue too."
This lens was selected as Lens of the Day on: 11/23/2006 Yipee!

My Pickle Poem
Featured Rhyme Time Challenge Poem by Lilly
Eat a pickle, feel so youngIt will tickle on your tongue
Pickles are so very green
And so terrifically keen
If you want a crunchy thrill
Eat this big green garlic dill
A bedtime pickle provides true slumber
So snack alot on "The Cucumber"

- Good luck with your green poem, when you come up with a good one post it here and I'll let my eco-geek blogging friends at Earth Friendly Goodies know and maybe they'll blog about it. You don't even have to share the 1000 bucks. =)

Worm Pie
A delectable delicacy of delightful deliciousness
Here's a little rhyme from way back when, I may have been ten, but I didn't have a pen so I had to memorize it then.... dedicated to a friend from long ago and far far away.I once as a girl, put worms in my pockets.
No dolls for me, or even gold lockets.
Just think what my mother would say
every week come laundry day;
into each pocket her hand would go
just to make sure they were empty you know.
But lo and behold to her great surprise,
handfuls of worms! It's hard to surmise.
What would happen if into the wash they fell,
to wiggle and whirl into a mushy brown gel.
Worms galore amid the soap and suds,
can you imagine this, on your taste buds?
Then into the dryer to get baked dry,
like a wriggling, jiggling, mincemeat pie.
So if you know a girl with fondness for worm
Please check her pockets to see if they squirm.

- A smiley face is the name
rhyming is the game.
Many ask if I have a name
But my parents aren't to blame
Its all the same
walk down the street, hearing names
Its hard to maintain
life without a name
I know one day Ill find my name
until then i will remain
without a name.

- Oh my, worms in a pie! It made me laugh 'til I thought I'd die.
And now a favor I must ask. It's really not such a terrible task. I started a group called What Soothes You Soul? I'd sure like you to join, or at least take a stroll.

Ode to Rhyme Time
The Bard has come to play a tune that may make the faint of heart swoon
There's a guy on Squidoo called Rusty QuillWho came up with a lens he thinks is brill
Rhyme a few words and he'll choose the best
For inclusion in his special poetry quest.
So out they poured, from the modest and the vain
The sickly sweet, and the profoundly mundane
The clever play and startling wit
The pleading sobs and other s**t
Which amuses and entertains no doubt
But frankly, mostly lacks the clout.
I jest of course, for many are clever
No offence intended, now or never.
Forgive my profanity, it's really bad form
But I swear like a trooper, that's my norm
Hail fellow poets, write, write, applaud and clap
Oh, bugger it, I can't keep up this cr*p!

Squidoo Poem
A poem about Squidoo by OhMe. Yipee!
Today was the dayI was going to pull away
and Not Squidoo!
I had other things to do
Wash the clothes and mop the floor,
grocery store and clean some more
Cook a meal for a change
Wipe the dust off the range
Squidoo has taken over my life
I'm not being a very good wife!
Nothing has been the same
since that day Squidoo got my name!
Today was the day
I was going to pull away
and Not Squidoo!
Hey just one peek won't hurt a thing
Then I'll scrub and scrub that stain.
I'll just pop in for only a sec
Then I'll sweep the entire deck.
I'll study my dashboard to see how I've done
Checking my stats is always fun!
Then check my email and I should have known
There was a note from my sister, Joan!
Go to this forum and go right now!
They're all writing poems and they really know how!
Rusty Quill has a lens called "A Rhyme A Day"
Which is really neat, I've got to say!
I'll just peek in and take a quick look
It shouldn't take long, it's not a book!
But what do I do--I begin to write
Now I'm still here and my house is a site!
Squidoo, you've got me hooked really bad
Surely it'll pass and is only a fad..
My hubby is jealous and getting mad
My home is really looking very sad!
But I love to Squidoo so what can I say?
Those household chores will wait one more day!

Help bring the beauty of rhyme to children around the world.

"John Wood launched Room to Read after a trek through Nepal. He visited several local schools and was amazed by the warmth and enthusiasm of the students and teachers, but also saddened by the shocking lack of resources. Room to Read seeks to intervene early in the lives of children in the belief that education is a lifelong gift that empowers people to ultimately improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities, countries, and future generations."
