Richard Gasquet: French Tennis Player
Richard Gasquet is currently one of the top ranked French tennis players, and is also ranked among the Top 100 players in the world.
He reached a career high of World No.7 in July, 2007 after winning his way to the Wimbledon semi-finals, having beaten American Andy Roddick in the previous round.
Following his solid play throughout 2007, he managed to qualify for the Tennis Master's Cup, but lost to David Ferrer of Spain.
During 2009, Gasquet was reportedly tested positive for cocaine, but strenuously denied the claims. As a result, he was provisionally suspended but was later cleared of the charge, citing that he had unknowingly consumed the drug after having kissed a woman at a party who had herself consumed it. With the suspension withdrawn, Gasquet was able to resume competitive play in July.
