Madagascar Celestite "Love at First Sight"

What draws collectors to the "magic" of this heavenly blue mineral..called Celestite or Celestine?

Madagascar Celestite "Love at first Sight"

or "Oh boy, were in trouble now!"

Madagascar is an island that is as diverse in character as it is rich with the minerals and fossils that it holds.

Celestite being just one on the long list of gems.

When our love affair began it was "love at first sight" the lure of minerals and fossils romancing us into our business, our hobby..our passion.

When we first laid eyes upon this masterpiece of nature called Celestite (Celestine) we were in awe. The sparkle, the blue hue drew us in. We had to add it to our collection, we were entranced, we were in love and we wanted to share this jewel with the world.

So here it is in all it's wonder..Celestite or "Celestine".

Wikipedia states:

"Celestine occurs as crystals, and also in compact massive and fibrous forms. It is mostly found in sedimentary rocks, often associated with the minerals gypsum, anhydrite, and halite. The mineral is found worldwide, usually in small quantities. Pale blue crystal specimens are found in Madagascar. The crystal system is orthorhombic."

What the heck it orthorhombic?

Well, that's what we said..so we looked it up in the dictionary and found:

Crystal system: "orthorhombic" describes a crystal system that has three axes of different lengths that cross at right angles.

Well, even though..it's still really pretty!

Cleavage: Perfect on one crystal face parallel to long axis, and nearly perfect on a second face.

Nice to have "perfect" cleavage.

Mohs scale hardness: 3-3.5"

Mohs scale of hardness..who is Mohs anyway?

Well, Mohs, was a German mineralogist, Friedrich Mohs, who developed a scale of hardeness for minerals, with 1 the softest like talc and 10 being the hardest, well, like, you guessed it DIAMONDS!

So, celistite or celistine, is fragile coming in at a mere 3-3.5 on the Mohs scale of hardeness, like most women..delicate fragile, sensitive, oh, back on track.

In the scheme of things we didn't care about the particulars, we threw caution to the wind. We purchased pounds of it because we were in love.
We love to admire and feel the "happy" energy Celestite emits, each crystal with its own endearing personality.

Not only does "Celistite" emit an unsurpassed beauty it also works it's own kind of magic.
The heavenly baby blue celestite helps awareness, eases tension, and relaxes the physical and mental. Celestite crystals assist clarity for the fifth chakra, helping with communication, expression, and raising consciousness.

Whoops! ran out of space..to be continued...

the "real" magic

Celestite

Celestite, the beautiful translucent blue crystal, is highly prized by energy workers, crystal healers and meditators.

Metaphysical rockhounds say that celestite helps synchronize the egoistic mind with higher aspects of your Divine Nature. Celestite is said to promote mental balance (which we could all use on occasion)and a peaceful, tranquil mental state.

Celestite is said to facilitate clairaudient communication with the angelic realms and with your Spiritual Guides and Teachers. Celestite is a good communication crystal to harmonize the energy in spaces used by groups of individuals.

It is also said that this beautiful mineral contains within it the essence of the celestial realm.

Although hard to the touch, it has a softness about it, that reflects its sensitivity and delicate nature. It is said that it helps gain new heights in clairaudience and astral travel.

We haven't taken any astral trips with Celestite, but what a great trip that would be!

We love the magic of life..to believe or not believe is a personal choice. Our purpose is to share information..to open up new thought and opportunities for people to take it or leave..but new though is stimulating.

To find peace during these uncertain times using a beautiful crystal to aid in meditation..I like the idea of it.

Some say that using it on the third eye will connect the user to the angelic realm bringing peace and harmony into the life of the user. When placed on the throat chakra, Celestite will help translate the peaceful and tranquil impressions felt by the user into verbal sounds.

Celestite is definitely a crystal for these times.

Whether or not you "believe" in the magic of crystals is personal. Even so, Celestite is a beautiful mineral to add to your collection.
