On Father's Day, June 15, 2003 I dipped the rear wheel of my bicycle in the Pacific Ocean to begin a 4,200 mile bicycle ride across America in honor and memory of my late father, Jeremy A. Klainer.

My father passed away suddenly on April 17th 2002, just 2 months before he was to set off toward his own goal of crossing America by bicycle. His dream remained unfinished - a dream I sought to complete.

I created a travelogue of my journey at RideAcross.com and have added additional resources in this lense.  I invite you to participate in my cross-country adventure by reading the weekly travelogue from the road, learning about every mocha stop from Seattle to Boston, hearing stories of the countless characters I met along the journey and listening to me complain about headwinds every once in a while. It is filled with humorous anecdotes, meaningless facts, and above all, reflections of why the heck I rode my bicycle 4200 miles in 63 days.

Thanks - Matt
