Rifles and Scopes

Bang! Bang! Bratatatatatatat! Yeah it's funny, but these are the sounds that first came into our minds when we hear the words guns, rifles or any ammunition. I grew up watching the movies of Tom Cruise, Van Damme, Nicolas Cage and many other Hollywood action stars who always have guns on their movies. But during my younger years, I actually wandered if they were all the same or what. I have a lot of questions concerning it that sometimes my parents were annoyed every time they watch an action movie cause I keep asking them what are those rifles or guns in that movie they're watching (cause even them, they don't know).

I've got a friend working on a guns and ammunition shop somewhere here in our place so I asked him recently about those stuffs about rifles and guns. I've learned from him that even rifles are of different kinds like Ruger 10/22 and its accessories. It's a semi-automatic rimfire rifle in long .22 rifle. There are also other kinds like AR-10, AR-15 and AK-47 all of which have their own accessories. I asked him again about that piece of pipe where in they seem to peep every time they have to shoot a target and he said that it was scopes. "Oh! Like telescopes?" I asked, and he said "well relatively, yes," and with that answer, I actually thought I can shoot stars. He explained to me that scopes are mounted on the rifle with their corresponding scope rings and the so called scope mounts.

Well there are still a lot about rifles and guns but somehow I was enlightened by him with his explanations and illustrations. So the next time I will watch an action movie, I will keep an eye on those weapons and will write again my observations.
